We flew Kenmore Air from Nanaimo, BC to Boeing Field and had no waiting time to get through their fast and efficient customs. Kenmore AIr offered complimentary shuttle to SeaTac, but we had prearranged a taxi to meet us. In a very short while, we were at the Paramount Hotel. Tom, the bellman, immediately came out, took our bags and welcomed us to the Paramount. He gave us maps, a newspaper, numerous discount coupons, including a 30% off coupon for Colombia Sportswear where we made some substantial purchases. Seth, the manager, checked us in but it was 8:30 am and of course we did not expect to get into our room until 4:00 pm which was the check in time. Seth actually remembered us when we had called a few weeks ago, and said that there would be one room available in an hour. We were delighted to hear this, so Tom took our luggage into the storage room and we proceeded to have breakfast, but not before we had the great tasting complimentary coffee in the lobby. There were a few choices of coffee and we tried them all. After breakfast we came back to a beautiful corner room with a wonderful view on the 8th floor and the windows actually opened. It was a large, comfortable room and a very large bathroom as well. The bed was comfortable as well as the oversized pillows, and we slept very well. We spent 4 days in Seattle and were on the go all the time. The desk clerks would always say hello to us as we entered and excited the hotel, and even on one occasion the desk clerk remembered that I had on a different hat from the previous day. Tom would always have a smile for us and we had some great conversations with him. The location is absolutely superb as it was a short walk to Pikes Market Place where we spent a lot of time, and getting to public transportation was within easy walking distance as well, and we used the great various means of getting around the city all the time. There are numerous restaurants, bars, grocery store in a short distance from the hotel, and we felt safe walking the area both day and night, and the wide sidewalks are so nice to walk on. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view on the upper level if you have a choice.

This was my second visit to The Paramount Hotel. As with the first, some two years ago, i found the staff welcoming, the room comfortable, and the location convenient to central Seattle and the public transportation system which I use to and from the airport.

The bell captain/porter/concierge guided me to a great brunch spot (Lola's) and gave understandable directions.

There is a restaurant - which I did not use. The hotel provides morning tea and coffee which I did utilize.

All in all it's a comfortable place that seems to attract guests who are not looking for a booming lobby with big chandeliers - guests talk to other guests in the elevators (1).

I'll be back.

Downtown hotels are spendy. You expect certain things. Plain and odd-smelling rooms, non-functioning Internet, outdated decor, forgettable food, and bill-boosting valet-only parking don't make the top ten. Find better value or more style for your money. This place is in no-man's land. Between parking and tax your $170 rate will cost $240. It's priced like a luxury property but, aside from staff, I've had happier, cleaner stays in your average chain hotel.

Near the train station (from airport) and very close to places of interest in downtown.
Lovely living room setting and a warm fire place in the lobby.
A small supermarket a block away for any necessities and you can hire/pick up your car from Dollar at the nearby Boren Ave.
Minutes away from stores/shopping and Pike Place Market for the freshest seafood
Room booked was of ideal size and the wash basin is not in the bathroom which worked very well since I wasn't traveling alone.
The bed is amazing!!!!
In short, fantastic location (close to places of interest but you are still able to get street parking easily at night), beautiful property with great amenities. Very attentive and helpful staff too!!
Will choose The Paramont if I do return for a visit.

The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. It's about what you would expect from a downtown hotel in that price range but based on what i had read in a seattle travel guide the rooms were more modern than what i was led to believe. The biggest selling point is location. The two biggest tourist attractions in seattle are the space needle and pike place market (which is awesome!). The paramount is conveniently located near both. There's even a theatre, aptly named the paramount, half a block away. I have a background as a theatrical technician so that warmed my heart. I plan on catching a production the next time i'm in town. The hotel is also near the downtown shopping district which would be a positive to some though i could have done without that scene.

We stayed here so we could go to a concert at Benaroya Hall and not have to drive home (two hours). We found it to be a great value and a terrific place to stay. It's small (100 rooms) and has not got a lot of five-star stuff going on, but if you want a convenient hotel where you can park your car and forget it and walk no more than 20 minutes or so to everything worth while in Seattle, or have a quick connection to getting farther (Pioneer Square, stadiums, etc) then this is a good choice. It's very clean, even the parking garage is spotless.Check-out's a noon, not 11, which gives you a little more time to get going, and we were allowed to leave our car in their garage until 5 p.m. after checking out earlier. They're flexible and helpful, kind and gracious. We even got a free upgrade to a corner room.
Their restaurant is an Asian Fusion place called the Dragonfish Asian Cafe, and has a nice variety of well-done dishes, especially the Lime Rickey Shrimp and Asian Curried Steak Fries. Happy hour is extensive, 3 to 6 p.m. and then again from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. On Mondays it's happy hour from 3 p.m. until they close. Food is served until midnight.
Our stay, with two meals (two people), was a little over $200.

What an amazing place! A tranquil oasis in the hustle and bustle of a busy city. On arrival the reception staff could not have been more helpful. The room was very well appointed, light and spacious with opening windows which I absolutely love! Bathrooms and mouthwash a nice touch that most hotels don't provide. Very close to all the major places and with it's own bar what's not to love!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a lower floor. They do provide free WiFi but it was very temperamental on the 9th...
