Well maintained older property near the Seattle Center. Provides complimentary shuttle service to Space Needle and other points. Very cooperative staff. Nice choices on breakfast buffet. Immediate neighborhood in transition and not overly attractive, but lots of ethnic food choices for dinner.

Room Tip: Little difference among rooms, as is typical in hotels of this quality.

The rooms were fairly large and clean, the wireless worked great, and the breakfast was pretty good for being free. The front desk attendants were also very kind and helpful. I would definitely consider staying here next time I travel to Seattle.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at this Springhill Suites although our suite seemed smaller than other Springhill properties I've stayed in. We did hear some street noise since we were located at the front of the hotel on the 3rd floor. The breakfast was well tended but get there early because after 8am it gets crowded making it necessary to grab seating in the bar area. Other posts have mentioned concerns about the neighborhood but we had no issues, but we were never out past 10pm! It's about a 20-30 minute walk to Pike Place Market. It's also only a 5-10 minute walk to the northern terminus of the bus tunnel (free bus rides through 7pm in the tunnel!). The hotel will shuttle you to the Space Needle park and to the Westlake Shopping area (short walk to Pike Place Mkt) on a top and bottom of the hour schedule. We only have three complaints: No recognition of Marriottt Rewards members (at least in our case), the hardwire internet connection in the room would freeze from time to time, and the towels in the room seemed kind of lightweight and thin for a Marriott property.

Once I'd hiked/ bussed up from the harbour to the hotel, wondred why I'd chosen such an out of the way location. The Denny triangle is a marketing myth and something of a trek to the places you want to visit- as well as being an area with a large number of homeless people at certain times of the day. That said, the hotel was more than satisfactory. The bedroom/ living area with microwave and bathroom were all well-appointed and there was a good supply of tea/ coffee in the room. Even better, a good breakfast was served every morning downstairs and there was none-stop tea and coffee making in the lobby. Added to this, there were two free computer terminals in the lobby for internet access. Service was pleasant at all times. If you had a family in the room, and/ or arrived with a car to get about in it would be really very good value indeed.

Don't miss their breakfast
Walk to town and browse around the market place and walk leisurely in the waterfront.
Take the shuttle to go to the Light Train station if you want to go to the airport
Don't take a cab from the airport to the hotel, instead take the Light Train to Westlake station and take a cab from there ($50 vs. $10).

Stayed at this hotel for one night. The hotel is okay, but I can't say great.

Hotel lobby is nice and clean and kind of feel new. However, this same type of feeling did not carry over to the room. The room overall is good and clean, but a lot of little details are not there. For example, in the bathroom, some corners and few spot of ceiling has some black spots. The couch sank when you are sitting down. Towels had its better day in the past as they are very thin.

The wireless Internet at night is impossible to use and very very slow, but during the day it seems okay.

The hotel offers shuttle services to down town area, but we did not reserve ahead of time, so no more space for return service. So we ended walk back to the hotel from downtown (around 5th and pine street). It took about 15 minutes walk which is okay with us.

Overall, I have no major problem with this hotel, just feel this hotel lacks of attention to the details and if this trend continues, the condition of this hotel can be pretty bad. I will definitely look around and check out other options first.

Dear Air747,

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide this valuable feedback. We appreciate all of the wonderful comments we have received from our guests and we also appreciate hearing about how we can improve the overall experience in our hotel. You mentioned that our lobby had a new fresh feel but this did not carry over to our guest rooms. While we ahere to a strict preventive maintenance program to keep our rooms looking their best, I have some exciting news to share with you. Beginning in late October of this year our hotel will be undergoing major renovations to our guest rooms and hotel corridors! The first phase of these renovations will include new carpet, wallcoverings, paint, window treatments as well as bed and bath decor. The next phase in 2012 will include new furniture and artwork. We are very excited about these improvements which will have no impact on current guests as complete floors will be closed as the upgrades are completed.

You also mentioned that our wireless internet did not meet your needs. In the past year the hotel has invested in tripling the amount of bandwidth available to our guests. With the increasing use of mobile devices (some rooms using an iphone, ipad, lapotop at the same time), we recognize the need for additional bandwidth has skyrocketed. We currently offer the industry standard, but we want to continually look for ways to upgrade the experience for our guests. To ensure that we stay ahead of the curve, we have signed on for an additional tripling of our bandwidth that we hope to have installed later this year.

Thanks again for the feedback. Our entire staff sincerely hopes for an opportunity to welcome you back to our hotel in the near future so that you may experience these exciting new upgrades.

Warm Regards

Aaron Olson, General Manager

We enjoyed our stay at the Springhill Suites downtown Seattle. Everything was up to "Marriott standard" with comfortable beds, spacious suite, nice flat screen TV and free breakfast. The only drawback was that the hotel is a bit of a distance from the waterfront and Pike's market, so there is some walking to do, unless you are driving. The valet parking fee is $21 for 24hrs at this hotel with in-and-out privileges.
We would certainly stay at this hotel again.
