Recently renovated Art Deco hotel within easy walking distance of the University of Washington. Rooms very comfortable and very nicely designed. Mellow lobby - could have spent all day in it. A great place to stay. Not near downtown or Space Needle, but easy walking to many vegetarian restaurants (including Chaco Canyon Organic Cafe with many delicious vegan options) and a number of yoga studios. Parking is in lot behind hotel, with easy access.

Enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Deca. We had a fantastic view of the city from our room. The staff was very friendly and accomodaing. Rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable as well as the pillows. Did not eat at the restaurant because there were so many other wonderful places to eat in the University district. The wireless was hit and miss The price of our room was around $120 per night plus $17 to park a car...not bad.

Hello Lindsborg,

We are all thrilled that you had such a “Great Experience”. Thank you also for mentioning our fantastic views and equally fantastic team members. I am always so thankful when a guest takes a moment to mention our amazing team at the hotel. We strive to create truly enjoyable experiences for our guests.

I also wanted to let you know that we are working on adding additional bandwidth to our complimentary wireless network. We should have something in place by the end of September.

Thank you again.

Sincerely,

Friendly staff comfy room, easier to get in and out of than any downtown hotel,I would reccomend it to anyone who doesnt want the nightmare of driving thru downtown Seattle
the next time I visit I will learn the bus routes-they take you everywhere-and there is a train from the airport to downtown-great restaurants-Smith's in Capitol Hill-Brouwers in Freemont
Get a bacon bloody mary from Liz at the Skillet the food is better than it needs to be

Hello Peggy S,

I am so glad you had such a wonderful visit. I could not agree more with your comments about our location. We are a fantastic alternative for guests looking to be just outside the hustle and bustle of Downtown Seattle. Plus, we have some of the best views of any hotel in Seattle. You cannot get that from many downtown hotels. We cannot wait to see you again.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Bartlett

Stayed here with daughter, reviewing U of W campus, which is very close. The rooms are decent, clean and the decor is pleasant. The view of Seattle, Space Needle, Rainer and the Olympics are fabulous on a clear day. Beds were comfortable. I do not recommend the restaraunt, downstairs, extemely overpriced for the quality of food provided and service was poor with attitutude. Stay at the hotel, eat elsewhere.

Room Tip: Ask for an upper floor facing towards downtown for best views.

Dear Bloomsthree,

Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent trip to Hotel Deca. I am so glad you found the room and amazing view so enjoyable. I am extremely sorry you did not find the restaurant to be as enjoyable as the rest of your visit. I will definitely speak to the restaurant team to ensure the food and service matches the amazing amenities throughout the entire hotel.

Thank you again.

Sincerely,

The Hotel Deca was probably one of the best hotels in the U-District, Seattle. However that isn't saying very much. Wireless was pretty bad and there isn't any continental breakfast now (The ownership has changed hands within the last year). The staff was very helpful and pleasant, but the rooms and the the hotel itself wasn't anything special.Plus, there's no swimming pool. Especially at almost $200 per night. Unless you have a special reason to stay in the University District, I would suggest choosing something closer in to downtown.

Dear Eva B,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent experience at the hotel. I am so sorry your visit did not meet your expectations. As you mentioned, we are definitely the best hotel in the U-District and I think one of the best in Seattle. Back in 2005 the Hotel was purchased and rebranded into a full service four star hotel. As a result we have not had a continental breakfast since 2005. Unfortunately we do not have a pool. I wish we did for these hot summer days but we do not.

Thank you again for your review.

Sincerely,
Jonathan Bartlett
