I LOVED the Hotel Deca. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The bed was super comfortable! They offer free wifi and a free shuttle to some locations, which was fantastic - I had a gorgeous girl called Kelsey drive me Downtown, she was very kind and very helpful. The staff were extremely friendly. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here!!

We LOVE you too!!! What a fantastic review. Thank you so much. We also passed on your comments to Kelsey. I assure you she was thrilled to read your comment. She is an amazing ambassador for our hotel so it is great to see her effort recognized on Trip Advisor.

A bit more expensive then other hotels but perfect location if staying at u of wa tower or top of university road. I would stay there again. The rooms have a good view, but if the view is important to you - make certain you ask for such. Parking is an add on cost - but relatively worth it for the proportional cost and awkwardness of parking in the region. Good place to stay and walk.

NurseMD,

Thank you for your review. I have to agree that our views are amazing. Not many hotels in Seattle offer the jaw dropping views that we offer. It is always good to ask for a room with a view or to ensure you get an amazing view I always recommend reserving a sky level room. It is worth every penny.

Thank you again.

A colleague and I stayed at Hotel as we were in the area for business and were very satisfied overall with our stay. The room was very comfortable and clean, the view over Seattle was wonderful and the staff (in most cases) were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to others for business travel.

Room Tip: If you want a nice room, request to over look the city.

Hotel Deca is positioned perfectly to make the University of Washington easily accessible on foot. A variety of restaurants, including friendly college dives and quieter spots, are easily walkable. There is decent coffee shop attached directly to the hotel for your morning fix. The hotel is well updated but is in an older building, so don't be shocked if the bathrooms are pretty tiny and the toilet is so close to the door it makes you feel like you're in the middle of the room with the rest your party. As a group relaxed about bodily functions, we had a good laugh about the "closeness." Actually, this was a step above a W I stayed in recently where there was NO door to the bathroom and a huge glass partition between the shower and the rest of the room. Total peep show. That was ACTUALLY no privacy. I am a travel agent, I was specifically looking for nearby nearby quality and quantity, and there are plenty of places to eat drink and be merry. Since hotels within walking distance of the University of Washington are a bit sparse, Hotel Deca is a solid choice that will have you in the center of where you want to be

Dear Brandi M,

As a fellow member of the travel professional community your insight is incredibly valuable. As a travel agent I am sure you get the chance to explore a number of hotels so all of your positive comments are extremely important and valuable to us. I am so glad you enjoyed the hotel and our exciting neighborhood.

We actually did a renovation to our bathrooms a year ago to try and make the space more user-friendly. Because space is somewhat limited we added a ton of shelf space, updated the lighting and wallpaper and a few additional “behind the walls” enhancement. But most of all, we keep the old traditional doors and did not add a glass partition like the other hotel you mentioned. Some things just have to remain the same.

Thank you again,

Jonathan Bartlett

This retro hotel is 2 very short blocks to the corner of campus making it entirely walkable. Very comfortable rooms with great views (be sure to ask if this important). Nice little bar downstairs and a coffee shop for the am. Parking right at the hotel but charge is $19/night. Fair bit of construction so be prepared for some torn up streets but very manageable. LOTS of good food nearby.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask about which Side of the hotel you'll be on because the views will be different...

Hello OwenHall2012,

I really appreciate you taking the time to write a review about your recent trip to Seattle. Great tip by the way. We do have some amazing views of the City and beautiful Pacific Northwest that we love to show off. Also the construction you spoke of is for the new light rail station that will be opening in a few years. When it is completed our guests will be connected to the rest of our amazing city by walking only one block. We are really excited about the addition to our great neighborhood. Thankfully the construction is across the street and during normal business hours so the impact is very minimal to our guests.

Hopefully we will see you again very soon.

Best Wishes,

Jonathan Bartlett

At the recommendation of a colleague, I stayed here because of location, price, and easy parking. I was upgraded to a suite, which in all likelihood has spoiled me forever. The room was spacious with an enormous rooftop patio complete with planters, chairs and loungers (unfortunately it was not a day for sunbathing). The view was great and I especially enjoyed the gas fireplace, large bathtub, and stone tile shower. The bed was quite comfortable. I also felt very secure because the elevator requires a room key to go up. I plan to come back.

Room Tip: Get parking for $1 extra.

Dear ORstatenative,

It is nice to be spoiled every once in a while, right. So why not be spoiled with one of the best views in the entire city of Seattle. Not many hotel’s have roof top suites with patios that allow you to see all the best parts of the Pacific Northwest and our lovely city. It is spectacular.

Please come back again so we can spoil you some more.

Overall quite pleased with this hotel- I stayed in one of their smaller suites since it was only me. Spent several nights there for a conference. Staff there were very professional and friendly. Room was clean and service met my expectations. Being near the university was also very convenient- alot of restaurants and eateries nearby mostly catering college students which I didn't mind. Would consider this hotel next time I'm back in Seattle.

Hello JY32014,

Thank you for your review. I think you nailed two of the best things about our hotel..the staff and the neighborhood. Our team loves to hear fantastic feedback from our guests. It puts a huge smile on our faces and makes us feel proud of the job we do. And the neighborhood, it is all about the neighborhood. As the closest hotel to the University of Washington we love the active and vibrant feel of the shops and restaurants surrounding the hotel. It is definitely and exciting area.

Hopefully we will see you again very soon.

Best Wishes,
