Been at quite a few hotels downtown Seattle for work recently. This is my favorite so far. Reasonable prices, the rooms are very nice (pretty new), and the location to downtown is great. The downside is that it is a bit noisy, but that's true of most hotels downtown and it can be hard to get a room here during conventions or in the summer high season (so book early!). I would certainly recommend this place, especially if you want to walk to things downtown (everything is in a roughly 2-mile radius that you might want to visit) and if you would like a full kitchen.

The facility and staff are truly amazing. We just completed a three night midweek leisure stay and everything was perfect. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and very comfortable, the breakfast delicious, and the evening reception was an unexpected bonus. The hotel is in the perect location for exploring both downtown and Capitol Hill Seattle.

Room Tip: We didn't need a kitchen so we selected the "non-suite" style room. It was a very nic...

Stayed here for one night using a HHonors free room certificate. Were given a king suite with separate bedroom and livingroom/kitchen. Much larger than expected. Two TVs. Early checkin happened to be available, efficient and very pleasant front desk staff. Got the nonsmoking room we requested. Breakfast was exceptional for a "free breakfast" included - excellent quality and variety, and a lot of attention to keeping the area clean and restocked. The room notes indicate a free evening meal and beer/wine service Mon-Thurs, rotating menu. Only thing unusual - room thermostat seems like a regular adjustable one, but apparently it isn't adjustable and a sign posted indicates to call front desk and send someone up to adjust it if needed. We just opened the balcony door instead which was fine to cool down the room.

Location was quite central adjacent to convention center, an easy walk down Pike street to the market and shopping areas, we also were able to walk to the Seattle center/EMP/Space Needle and Pioneer Square/Amtrak station areas without difficulty.

There was laundry facility down the hall, signs indicate fitness room available, also a pool area on level 5, seasonal opening.

SuefromBC,

Thank you for your feedback and thanks for using your hard-earned points at our property. I am glad we delivered the quality that you expected of us. Also, thanks for bringing up the air conditioning units. We are currently upgrading our heating and cooling system, which will resolve the issue of having someone come up to your room. We currently have upgraded the units in the vast majority of suites and intend on completing this project by the middle of June. I can assure you that this quirky issue will be resolved by your next visit.

Warm regards,

Scott

We were in Seattle for a mix of business and pleasure, and chose Homewoods for it's suite accomodations. A full breakfast; which may include eggs, French toast, Belgian waffles as well as cereals and pastry is included. A light supper is served Monday through Thursday. It's always nice to have a living space for "early risers", while others are still sleeping. The kitchen is adequately, if not extensively, stocked with the essentials for preparing meals. We would definitely return. The hotel is situated on a busy street near a medical center. Ambulance sirens are routine. If noise is an issue, request a room away from the hotel's street side.

I stayed here about 5 years ago and still great staff and place to stay. We had a suite with a fire place, so really special. We arrived from the east coast about 11am and the staff locked our luggage so we could start touring right away. They called us when our room was ready, around 2pm and we were able to check right in. They even loaned us an umbrella and that is very important being in Seattle, we used it several times already. I would recommend this place to stay as if I come back to Seattle I will be spending my next week here too. Love the place and within walking distance of everything you want to see in Seattle.

I stayed here while at a recent work conference at the convention center. This was a great location for that. only a couple of blocks past the convention center. It is within walking distance to the Pike Place Market and surrounding shops. I will say, though, there were several hotels down the road on the other side of the convention center that would put you closer to those places. I chose this one because the price is good and it is spacious. The suites have a large sitting area with couches and desk, a full kitchen, spacious bathroom and comfortable bed. However, it is nothing fancy, a little out-dated. If you are looking for luxury, this is not the place for you. The breakfast buffet in the morning is complimentary and good. There is fresh coffe and tea around the clock.

For the negatives: I was in room 539, the VERY last room on the floor. A treck from the elevator and right next to the entrance to the pool and billiards area. A funny smell in the hall. This room had no view. If you are looking for a great view of the city look elsewhere.

Overall, I rate this as very good due to the price, location, amenities and breakfast buffet. A good choice for business trip or families.

Stayed here for 3 nights for a conference. The hotel is located 5 mins walk (straight down the street) from the Wash State Convention Center. I prefer homewood or residence inns when traveling for the extra space and this room was no exception. Booked a king suite. It had separate bedroom and bathroom along with the usual smallish kitchen (2 burner stove, large refrigerator, micro, coffee maker, toaster, dishwasher, dishes and silverware for 4, and a nicer than usual wine opener), along with sofa bed, chair, desk, but no dining table and chairs. Instead it had 2 tall chairs against a breakfast bar looking into the kitchen area. I found the king bed to be a tad too soft for my taste.
Have to agree with some of the other posters that it's kind of hard to say anything negative about this place.
We arrived early Saturday fully expecting to have the hotel stow our bags until check in time. The desk clerk, Crystalyn, was very pleasant and professional. She even got us into our room upon arrival!! To get to the hotel from the airport I called the front desk prior and they arranged airport pick up with their contracted car service (towncar, $45 plus tip airport to hotel, prompt airport pick up and pleasant ride). She showed us on a downtown map where the sites are and we spent the rest of the day exploring once we settled into our room. All hotel staff with whom I interacted were most pleasant and professional.
The lobby is very sleek and well maintained. Found the morning breakfast to be over and above average for a not-made-to-order hot breakfast. Scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, french toast one morning, tater tots the next. The usual assortment of breads and cereals, fresh cut fruit, hard boiled eggs, and, most unexpected, fresh cut strawberries and whip cream with the waffle maker! Even on the morning the hotel was at full capacity the way the eating area/lobby is set up it didn't seem noisy or crowded. They have a manager's reception Mon-Thurs which I was able to attend one evening. It wasn't a manager's reception in name only; Scott, the manager was actually there pouring the wine and beer, 2 average types of each, and talking with the guests. Full dinner, too. Not gourmet but satisfying enough after a very long, tiring day spent in conference and not wanting the hassle of finding a place to eat. The night I was there it was fried chicken (big, moist, and hot pieces), mashed potatoes and gravy, peas, salad bar with what appeared to be fresh-cut romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, nuts, parmesan cheese, etc, and really good variety of cookies.
They have a "business center" set up between the food and lobby area which, while stuck in the middle, was above average with well-stocked amenities. 2 computers, easy to print boarding passes, several pens, pencils, fed ex envelopes, stapler, paper clips, envelopes, push pins, and more.
Our room was on the 7th floor facing Pike Ave and the freeway which is below street level. There was traffic noise if you had the windows cracked open (only one of 2 windows opened in each room) but there was significant difference in noise when windows were closed. We used both the air conditioning and heat (neither one for very long a time) and didn't have a problem with either as other posters reported. I wish they would have had a hook behind the bathroom door to hang either clothes or towels (nice big fluffy ones). At no time was I bothered with hallway noise even though the hotel was at capacity.
Have to agree the hotel parking fee is steep but it's that way all over downtown Seattle. For now (apparently until Sept 30) there's free public transportation to most of the major downtown Seattle attractions which is very convenient to get around. Didn't wait more than 5 minutes to catch any bus. And some attractions such as Pike market are a very walkable distance from the hotel. There's a Hertz rental car store 3 short blocks from the hotel across from the convention center on Pike Ave. Once you're done seeing the downtown Seattle sites you could rent a car from them and explore other parts of Washington which is what I did for one day.

Overall this hotel exceeded my expectations. This will be my first choice hotel whenever in Seattle.
