My husband, daughter and I stayed at this Hilton property for five nights. It is a good choice for access to the Convention Center, with an easy walk and quick, safe route. Continuing further down the hill, the Market is an easy walk. Going in the opposite direction, a full circle block offers a great variety of restaurants, from pricey to inexpensive (for Seattle). However, this direction gets less nice pretty fast, although my daughter walked blocks by ourselves exploring.
We had a corner king suite on the 6th floor - attractive wraparound layout with full bank of windows on all sides. Small balcony and corner fireplace in the living area. Kitchen is small, but adequate. (One day, we bought all ingredients for dinner at the Market and had a gourmet meal prepped 100% in the room.) The king bed was comfy and bathroom use was convenient from both areas. One problem is that if the sleeper sofa is out, you basically have inches to get in and out of the master bedroom. Annoying, but doable if you cut through the bathroom. Yes, the wallpaper seems dated and some wear is obvious in the bathroom and common areas, but not unacceptable for a hotel room. Convenient coin-operated laundry on alternate floors, but weird that ice machines are also on alternate floors! Also, can't go anywhere w/o room key for security. Street noise didn't bother us - could hear sirens, but minimal other - and we were the room that has two sides fronting the street/interstate. NO noise from adjoining rooms or hallway.
Personnel were all friendly and anxious to help - especially liked Kolya (?) in the eating area. One problem: Each time I called for our car, I arrived downstairs to find that the front desk had not even notified the valets yet, so we always had to wait a few minutes. Housekeeping okay - not exceptional- ran late everyday and if they caught us in the room, always wanted us to tell them we didn't need service that day!
Food: usual Hilton breakfast fare, except NO variety in terms of scrambled eggs EVERY morning. Evening meal was marginal; the salad bar offerings were good enough, but the greens were a little worn every night. Minimal protein and lots of carbs (lasagna, tortellini, veg chili), but it is a pleasant and convenient option if you plan by the menu and realize that you are getting a full meal with drinks and cookies, saving a few $$ for other fun, like dessert from the Cheesecake Factory or Creperie just down Pike from the hotel.
