“Solid hotel with a good location”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

The setting: This modern property is just a 10 minute walk from Pike Place Market and two minutes from the entrance of thew train to the space needle. There is a subway and a convenience store diagonally across from the hotel. The lobby is spacious and inviting, with a coffee shop and a restaurant, neither of which I tried.

The room: I used an upgrade certificate to upgrade to a suite, which was spacious but nondescript. The view is of the neighboring buildings and streets below, and is not appealing. The sitting area was large as was the bedroom, both came with flat screen TVs. Internet was fast and the Wifi signal was strong. The king size bed was large and plush. The bathroom was spacious. The water pressure in the shower was good.

All in all: This hotel is a solid choice for a Seattle stay especially if you book ahead and get a discounted rate. Customer service here is top notch. As there was a slight delay in applying my upgrade certificate, the front desk clerk went out of her way and gifted us a bottle of wine and chocolate cherries which were waiting for us in the room on day two. I would stay here again, or try the Grand Hyatt around the corner.

This hotel was expensive, but we booked conference rates and it turned out to be a really nice hotel. Great pool area with views...really relaxing. Huge bathroom and modern feel. We didn't eat at the restaurant because we ate out. Rooms are very comfortable and the views of the city were great. Rooms were very quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

Green Features: Like that hotels are becoming more aware of environmental concerns...it saves them money and it's better for all.

Stayed 5 nights at this hotel in July for a conference. The hotel staff was exceptional at the front desk. The room was spacious and offered a fridge, flat screen TV, large desk, small table and wing back chair. The beds were comfortable and clean with all white linens. Overall the hotel was a good stay, but I thought the room could have been cleaned a little better. There was a lot of dust on items in the room, especially the lamp shades. However, I felt like the beds, carpet, and bathroom was clean. The cleaning staff just missed some of the small touches which I expect from this type of hotel. Overall though, I would stay again if I visit Seattle. Hotel was within walking distance to many many attractions and easily accessible to public transportation.

I've recommended the Olive8 to friends and family for years and I just recently stated there again. It's still kept very clean and the modern rooms continue to impress (lot's of windows, nice furniture, generous bathroom and comfy bed. I find you can just about ask the staff any question and they'll chase down an answer. Considering the many hotel options in Seattle, this place delivers and it's very reasonably priced. While you're there, don't forget to jump in their pool for refreshing fun and relaxation and walk or jog around nearby waterfront Sculpture Park.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room for twice the view.

Selected after reading up on a lot of Seattle hotels. Did not disappoint. This is a new build which to us was important in an earthquake prone area. Also has an excellent location near the Westlake transportation and shopping hub. Our 3 days could not have been better. Room clean and well fitted out with bedding, pillows, linen all of luxury quality. Taxi's easy to get at hotel or at nearby taxi rank. Small grocery store very near by on 8th Ave off of Olive Way. Monorail to Space Needle very short walk on nearly level ground as were Nordstroms, Pacific Place Mall, Macy's, Paramount Theater, Convention Hall. Could have walked to Pike Place Market (down hill). Suggest a cab uphill from waterfront. Since close to I-5 taxi fare from airport seemed to be about the minimum noted on internet. Definitely would stay here again, It was rather expensive but so is every other hotel in Seattle so it was a very good value for what it offered.

Green Features: Hotel is award winning both in the way it was build and in terms of its ongoing practices. See its website and Seattle area eco websites for more del ails.

This very Green Hotel in downtown Seattle is modern and efficient. Its convenient location to many popular attractions and restaurants makes this hotel a good choice for both business and leisure travelers. It's room rates is competitive with surrounding hotels, and it has all the amenities that you would expect from a Hyatt. The staff is friendly and very professional.
