Overall, this property holds a lot of promise, but Hyatt jumped the gun a bit on opening when they did. The staff was tripping overthemselves to figure things out that were pretty basic. For example - as a platinum member, I asked for a room on a high floor - got a low floor, looking directly into the hotel across the street. Goofy stuff like that makes a stay uncomfortable. I was part of a group at the hotel and 2 of our folks got food poisoning from a veggie dish. Water pressure in the rooms was odd and not reliable.

Things that are good - the pool was amazing, as was the gym. Parking seemed to move quickly. Location was good. Quiet part of downtown, but not out of the way.

Overall - if you get a good deal, go for it. Just bring some patience for a while.

Brand new hotel--a bit stark, especially compared to The Paramount next door. Staff was extremely friendly except for one person who left me with a very bad taste: I had asked the bellhop if they had a business center where I could check my e-mails. The business center wasn't up and running yet. Because there were no other guests around, he said I could use one of the front desk computers. He led me around to the computer and a front desk clerk entered my home page. I had just started to read an e-mail, when another staff person appeared at my elbow and asked in a loud, rude voice, "Who told you you could use this computer?" I was stunned, but I meekly turned to the other two staff and said, "These guys." She then proceeded to berate me and demand that I leave the computer, which of course, I did. I was shocked and needless to say, that negative feeling is what I'm left with. There are too many other nice hotels in downtown Seattle for me to want to go here again.

Beyond that, the sound-proofing between rooms was terrible. We had to listen to a roomful of women next door laughing and carrying on. Very unpleasant.
