“Will stay again!”
Reviewed 2 August 2009

Stayed here the night before the RnR Marathon. The room was great! Location just as great. The staff very friendly. I enjoyed that everyone from house keeping, to room service, to front desk always had on smiles. Couldn't help but smile even after my run! Enjoyed the atmosphere and the design. I will definitely be back!

Wow, the title of your review really got my attention! Glad that you had a great stay. We know that it’s a big responsibility hosting marathon runners and glad that you were able to smile after the run. Congrats on the accomplishment and we hope to see you next year!

I tagged along on my husband's business conference held at the Hyatt at Olive 8. Our king-sized bed was very plush, in a spacious room. After notifying the staff that we were allergic to feathers, the pillows and duvet were changed promptly. Having the refrigerator in our room helped to keep our bottles of water and fresh fruit cold. The modern bath and shower was well-appointed (did not like the magnifying mirror on the counter though, would rather have the magnifying mirror on the wall). Loved the dimmer switch on the light over the bathroom sink, it worked well as my night-light. I do wish more hotels had this night-light feature. Breakfast in the hotel dining room was delicious, they even had soy milk for my morning coffee! We enjoyed walking to Pike Place Market and other sites from this hotel. My husband enjoyed the pool. Just absolutely loved the robes in our room.

We loved to see the word ‘relaxing’ in the title of your review. After all, that is our main goal, that our guests are relaxed and comfortable regardless of the reason for their stay. Point taken on the mirror; that is great feedback for us and our design team. Thanks for the kind words and we look forward to seeing you guys again soon!

I liked everything about this hotel, and although I was there for business, I would visit it again if in Seattle for vacation. Modern clean rooms, comfortable bedding, large flat screen TV, and large marble bathroom. The location is great, right in downtown area near convention center and walking distance to the Public Market and tourist areas. The lobby had a coffee bar during day-- switching to a wine bar at night--great espresso. Also, the restaurant attached to the hotel (Urbane) was surprisingly good. Staff was very helpful and pleasant.

A few unusual things that make it a "green" hotel that not everyone may appreciate, but I did. One is the need to put your key card in a holder near the light switch to turn the power on in the room. Another is that they will not change towels every day--although you can call housekeeping to have them changed more frequently. I was there for four nights and the linens and towels were changed once--without me calling. Modern electronic connections including an ipod system- a planted green roof--recycling bins in the rooms-- made for a good stay.

Thank you for the great description of our hotel, we couldn’t have written it any better ourselves! You are quite correct that some of our green features aren’t important to everyone, but they are VERY important to us and a source of great pride. It was great to see that you noticed and appreciated many of our unique features. The hotel just received its Silver LEED certification. We loved your picture of the green roof! See you again soon.

My wife and I just celebrated our 10 year anniversary in Seattle and the Olive 8 not only met but exceeded our expectations. It is a beautiful new hotel in a great location. The staff went out of their way to make our weekend memorable. We really enjoyed breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant. We actually ate there the first morning, and then tried another location on Saturday but it wasn’t even comparable. Needless to say, we were back at Urbane for our final fantastic, organic breakfast. Not only was the food good, but the hotel also had nice fitness center and pool. My wife also really enjoyed the spa. I have nothing negative at all to say about this hotel or its staff.

I would like to thank the Olive 8’s staff for all of your special attention and efforts in making our anniversary wonderful.

Congratulations on your anniversary! We are honored we could play a part in it! We can’t blame you for trying out some of the other great restaurants in the area but are delighted that you chose to return to Urbane, our restaurant. Not only to we strive to utilize local ingredients, but you would be surprised at how many of our farmers are within 30 miles of the hotel! See the Urbane website for more information. Congratulations again; we hope that you will consider us again for future anniversaries!

Hyatt at Olive 8

The hotel is in a good location, close to a mall and restaurants.
Nordstrom, Macy's are within walking distance.

The fitness center, swimming pool are very nice.Large stretch area at the gym, equipped with stretch bands and swiss ball, something not available in any other hotels.

Shower area by the pool is super clean, lots of stalls  and furnished with thick towels.

Staffs were friendly, nice pleasant stay.
Only complaint: No free wifi even in the hotel lobby.

This is a beautiful hotel conveniently located in the heart of downtown. It's an easy walk to several of the attractions in the downtown area of the city. The hotel staff is friendly, accommodating, and professional. Our room was beautiful with a comfortable bed, flat screen tv's, and a spacious bathroom. The style of the hotel is modern and comfortable. The workout facility and pool are second to none. Additionally, we really liked the fact that it was a LEED certified hotel, apparently the first of it's kind in Seattle. That just goes to show that a lot of time and effort was put into making the hotel "green" and you can tell that the detail continues on in the staff and accommodations. We didn't eat in the restaurant, however we did participate in the Happy Hour and really enjoyed the food and of course the drinks. In the end, this is a great hotel for an affordable price with pretty much everything you need for a comfortable stay for business or pleasure. Two enthusiastic thumbs up from me and my wife!

We appreciate you giving us a try, and are delighted we didn’t disappoint! We are also happy you were able to explore the area. The light rail just opened on July 18th which makes it easier to get around downtown and to the airport. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

The room is nice. The bed was comfy. Not too crazy about the shower without a door / curtain. I kept thinking that the water will get all over the bathroom floor. Didn't happen, but just uncomfortable feeling for me. I like my enclosed tub when I shower! The maid forgot to restock the bathroom once, but was quickly remedied after I called the front desk. Brand new fitness center. They are really proud of their LEED status! Not a big deal for me. Valet parking was pricy, but normal in downtown Seattle area. The attendants were really prompt with the car; it was always ready by the time we got to the car port. The restaurant downstairs was okay. The food was not too great and the service was so-so.

Overall, nice experience.

Thanks for the feedback. Glad that you liked the bed! While the reaction to our showers has been great, we realize that it’s not for everyone. All of our rooms with two queen beds have the more traditional shower/tub combo, so we can accommodate your preference on your next visit!
