Recently stayed at the Homewood Suites in Seattle right next to the water. Hotel had great rooms, good internet and great staff. The hotel is within walking distance of the science museum, the space needle and the water and just about everything else. Overall a great stay and a terrific base point for getting out around Seattle or a morning jog.

I stayed here about 2 years ago and had an excellent experience. My stay last week was just as good. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The room was very nice with an thoughtful set up with bedroom, kitchenette and lounge area. The hot cooked breakfasts each morning are three steps above the normal "continental breakfast" or the "make it yourself" breakfast. The complimentary meals at night are just as good.

We stayed here for about a week after our cruise. I had made reservations about 7 months prior to our stay, so I was quite surprised to be told that the type of room we had reserved was not going to be available the first night. We were told we could take a different room for the first night and then switch to the original afterwards. Nobody in the family wanted to settle in one room for one night and then be hassled by having to move to another room the next day, so we said we'd just take the smaller room. We were disappointed, but we didn't fuss or yell, because that's just not our style. Therefore, I was very pleasantly surprised when, the very next day, the front desk informed us that the manager was offering to move us into a larger room, on the highest floor, but still charge us the price for the smaller room. They even offered to move our suitcases for us, as long as they were packed. Now THAT'S what I call good customer service!

Now, on to the pros and cons. It might look like I am listing a lot of cons, but really they are mostly small items, and I believe they are planning to update the hotel sometime in the near future, so if they correct the cons, they'll have a fabulous place.

Pros: Location - we were able to walk just about everywhere. We were close to Seattle Center and tons of restaurants. Food - hot breakfast every day was good (particularly the scones, and the bacon was crispy just like I like it), hot dinner weekday evenings was okay, even though we only got to try it a few times, because we arrived back at the hotel just a little too late (they stopped at 7pm) most nights. Good selection of coffees, teas and creamers. Free cookies - yum!! Nicely stocked "store". Friendly front desk. Spacious, spacious, spacious suite. Lots of windows. Good air conditioning. Room felt virtually soundproof - no hall noise, no street noise. Room darkening curtains that really worked!

Cons: Cabinet doors in kitchen impossible not to slam (hinges too tight?). Bathroom water pressure weak. Wifi spotty and slow. Carpet frayed in multiple places. Bedroom closet door off hinges. No pool. No in-room safe. Breakfast needs more non-egg options. Only two washers and dryers for guest use (suggest doubling to 4 when you remodel). Washers and dryers take quarters only (but front desk was great with making change). Small workout room (though it never seemed overly busy). Maid service very late in the day, even when we hung the sign requesting it on our door. The wakeup call I requested the last morning never came (good thing we also set the alarm as backup, or we'd have missed our flight).

Hopefully they are remodeling soon and will fix the kind of small things we pointed out. If so, we'd love to come back when we next visit Seattle.

Room Tip: Go with a higher floor -- virtually no road noise.

The staff at this hotel is wonderful! Every single staff member we encountered was helpful and friendly. The room was okay, but for the price we wished it had been a bit nicer. The living area has an old feel to it and the couch was extremely uncomfortable. Our bathroom shower had a large crack in the surround which had been all puttied up. It is not a bad suite, it's just for the price, we had hoped it would be a little more upscale.

Our stay at the Homewood Suites exceeded our expectations. Stayed one week in a king suite with a pull-out couch for our teenage son. Suite was spacious and clean. Had a kitchenette with full fridge. Hot cooked breakfasts each morning are delicious and plentiful. Manager's dinner Mon-Thur are delicious also. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
We stayed on 4th floor, but saw view of Puget Sound from 6th floor.

Located just a 10-15 minute walk (uphill) to Seattle Center, a beautiful part of Seattle. Some things located at the Center are the Space Needle, Science Center, Chihuly Glass Museum and Monorail that goes to Westlake Center. Also, there are 2 buses that stop directly across from the hotel that go uptown to get to ferries and other attractions.

To get to Homewood Suites from SeaTac, take the Link Light to Westlake Center, then the Monorail to Seattle Center.

Room Tip: Higher floors are quieter. Views of Puget Sound from 5th & 6th floors.

We stayed here for a couple of days. We had previously stayed at the homewood on pikes. Both are close to all the attractions. This location is about a 5 minute walk to the space needle. It's about a 20 minute walk to pike place. The hotel itself is fine. Free breakfast and dinner. Not great but free is free. There's also free beer and wine for dinner. There's paid underground parking but street parking, if you find one, is free. The laundry machine cost $2. The staff we encounter we're all friendly.

This hotel offered complimentary breakfast and dinner service making it ideal for traveling with kids. The dinners aren't the most inspired but the menu changes nightly and for me, after eating out all day, a quick salad was enough. Also free happy hour drinks with dinner. We had 5 in our party and the hotel scheduled us a flat rate car from the airport ($65). The driver was on time and great. Location was convenient to walk Space Needle and Pike Place Market. Fitness center on site, yoga studio next door. Friendly staff. Room had incandescent light bulbs and would have liked it to be more energy efficient as a Hilton property.
