We stayed at the Silver Cloud on Union Lake at least twice per year, as previous. We usually have had an extended stay, four to ten days, and we loved staying at the SC on the beautiful lake union. It is so close to down town and has shuttles that take us where we need to go for shopping and call ins for restaurants when we do not feel like going out, and literaly across the street to great restaurants. The concierge could use some training to be more familiar with the local venues! The last two times we stayed we were incredibly dissapointed. The staff were just all children with no respect for the clientel, and were so concerned with visiting with themselves they couldn't be bothered to care for the guests. When we asked about guest services all we were told, is "We don't know about those things" I welcome a call of apology from MANAGEMENT! As a business manger myself, I will never again book any rooms through this venue, If you see this review, I have not yet been given an apology!

Staying here while my son recovers from surgery, really living in the room. Front desk staff always pleasant and helpful. Cleaning staff prompt in cleaning our room when we leave for a couple of hours. Love the fitness area and 3rd floor breakfast area/lobby. Will become our hotel of choice on visits to Seattle.

My husband and I always stay here every time we come down. The free shuttle is a nice bonus and the location is nice that it's not too close to the action of down town. The staff is very helpful and the beds are comfortable!

Nice location opposite lake. A bit far from cheap eats or convenience store.Easy to get to from main highway. Extra sink outside bathroom is great if you have 4 in the room! Free shuttle is fantastic service to the main tourist locations. Free parking is a bonus

We stayed here a week. Hotel is in a quiet location with a friendly, helpful staff (especially the shuttle drivers). Beds are very comfortable and double queen room an decent size with a couch and desk. Room needs more outlets on the desk and more drawers (there were only 2 smallish drawers!) But we liked the double sink outside the bathroom, and housekeeping was excellent.

Choose the pricier lake view room with a peek view out window of Space Needle. Lake is across street and through power lines, but still makes a nice view. 6th floor had little outside noise though we could hear upstairs footfalls, so get 7th if you can.

One needs to shuttle, drive, or take public transportation for all downtown activities, so if downtown is your focus, this might be inconvenient. Shuttles leave every half hour and we rarely had to wait more than 10 minutes for a pick up ride back. Major pluses are free parking with plenty of space and easy access to the 5 freeway. Internet is free and mostly functional.

Breakfast is good hotel fare and a room gets a bit chaotic towards end. There are a few restaurants across the street and the Museum of History and Industry is a short walk. But otherwise there's no shopping in the neighborhood.

Room Tip: Highest possible on lake side.

A friend and I just stayed here for 7 nights. It is a little off the beaten path, which was kind of nice because there wasn't a lot of traffic going by the hotel and it was easy to get across the street and down to Lake Union. Also, I-5 was nearby and easy to get on and off of. Our room was very nicely sized. We had two very comfortable queen beds, a sofa and coffee table, a desk and chair, three bedside tables, a "dresser", and a coffee/fridge/microwave area. Plenty of room to spread out for a week. The sink area was separate from the shower/toilet room and contained two sinks, which was nice. Lots of mirrors and outlets in the room. Overall, a good layout. We were on the lake side of the hotel (well worth the extra cost) and we had a nice view of the lake. We could see the space needle from our room if we opened the window and leaned out. There is free parking and wifi and free breakfast. Breakfast was in a large breakfast room with lots of seating and the food was varied and pretty good, especially the sausage. :-) The hotel has a shuttle service which we used a lot. The desk clerks and the shuttle drivers were very nice and helpful. My only real complaint was the lack of drawer space. The "dresser" consisted of two drawers and then enough open space under those drawers to have put another two, if not another four drawers. This open space made no sense. There were not enough drawers for two people for a week. This was kind of annoying. That being said, I would stay here again and I absolutely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Get a room on the lake side of the hotel, the higher up the better.
