Admittedly its offseason & not as packed as it could be, but this place has impressed me. Tuesday was taco night, a free meal provided by the hostel. It was one of the best taco dinners I've had. Veg options too. Today I did a food tour offered through the hostel. It lasted for 5 hours walking to all these cool eateries & sharing plates. Salami, lamb sandwich heaven, chocolate tasting, mac & cheese triangles. It was heaven. And all for $20, My room has been great. Comfy mattress, little curtains for privacy, power outlets at each bed. Large own locker each. Bathrooms on L1 are beautiful. Breakfast was amazing too, pancakes, toast, fruit coffee. I am pleasantly surprised. Right across to Pike Markets too. Some bums out the front, but they've been pretty harmless thus far

Room Tip: Avoid over the common room. A couple said they could hear music till 3am

I only stayed here for one night and I was happy. Its not everyone cup of tea because it is in a busy part of downtown right next to public market. Breakfast was good. Staff are super friendly and informative. I'm not sure what happens but I lift to get some dinner and came back to the room smelling like smoke. Overall, I was happy to only stay here for one night because of the location and they have some free fun activities.

Room Tip: Rooms are very good with larger locators to fit an travelling backpack. Own power outlet and private...

The Location was really good, close to public transport, but also to the market and a lot of restaurants, etc.

The people were super nice and helped us booking our bus to vancouver (with a super cheap company!! Thanks for that!). The breakfast was a good mixture between diyo and buffet and we even got dinner once for free!

The free walking tours were great! especially the one with the market.

The rooms were okay, a bit hot, but every bed has its own fan - which is really loud. And mini curtains, which was very convenient!

The bathroom was not the super cleanest, but i guess this is the problem of the other guests.

I guess I would stay here again!

I'm a details guy, so I hope they help you.

This is really a great hostel. It's clean, friendly, active and in a great location.
- 3 blocks from University Light Rail stop
- 1 block from Pike's Place market
- Separate bathroom / showers
- Towel Rental $1.
- Clean sheets are included.
- Make your own pancakes/eggs/toast is available every morning with fruit.
- Free dinner twice a week.
- Free tours / events throughout the week.

Overall the place was well worth going to for a fraction of the cost of a hotel in the same area. If you enjoy the adventure and meeting new people - this is a great place.

I would not stay at this hostel unless you plan on mingling with druggies and like to have your things go missing. Staff is arrogant and useless with people skills! I have stayed here a few times and this has been a consistent issue. The hostel staff got upset with me when i asked them for breakfast not realizing that i had to make my own. The cleanliness is not important to this hostel. I would not recommend this hostel to any one unless you are looking for drugs!

I stayed here for 4 nights in October. This is a great hostel right in the centre of town, really close to all the tourist hotspots and transport links. The beds come with spacious lockers, a good amount of plugs each, a fan, and a privacy curtain (which I wish more hostels would do). There's free breakfast everyday and free dinners a few nights a week which is great. Good ammount of bathrooms and never had to wait. There's lots of events at this hostel and its really easy to meet new people here and I made some good friends here as well. The only downside to this hostel was that it felt a bit unclean e.g there was dust on the bed panels and when I walked in the building there was a funky smell. Also there is no WiFi in the rooms. (But that only forces you to go out in the common room and socialise :) )

I was here in June 2013 because as a solo traveler I wanted an economical place to stay where I could meet other travelers and be near the best attractions.

No doubt it's a great and popular hostel. Located just steps from the Pike Place Market and within walking distance of everything, it's an outstanding bargain. When you enter the hostel, you have to climb a long flight of stairs but that was no problem. Check-in is easy. You're given sheets (actually, they're already on the bunk/bed) and you can lease a towel for a $1.

When I was shown to my room, I was surprised to find two girls sharing one of the two double beds. I'm a guy so that was weird. Each room has four beds of varying sizes depending on theroom. They get pretty hot at night since there's just a fan, and you can hear every noise from traffic zooming by. (I didn't see any drivers zoom through town while I was out exploring, but at night it's a different story.) I like the privacy curtains, which you can just close shut and be in your own private compartment. Also helps to block out some of that noise.

I like the individual shower rooms. Just like going into your own personal tan-marble bathroom. They're large and really nice. Just watch your step as there's a low ledge to step over before you get in and lock the door behind you.

The common area needs some work. I didn't find it all that large and it was nearly always crowded. What's great though is that the hostel has free dinners three nights a week, and the two I was there for were really good. For the rest of the time, you have to cook your own food (as you do for most other hostels), but the stoves are gas and not too cooperative. If you're not familiar with gas, you can easily turn the flame up too high.

The kitchen has a juice dispenser oddly next to the sink, so if you want juice you have to wait until the people in front of you clean their plates. If you like to buy food to refrigerate, there's not a lot of space for that either.

But, hey, it's a hostel. I've been to better, but for Seattle this is really the best deal. You definitely won't need a car, and the subway/rail system is decent enough to get you in the general vicinity of where you want to go. You're also only blocks from the ferries which go to Bainbridge Island and Vashton. Make sure you take the ferry to Bainbridge at least once. It's a short ride and there you are in a different, more rural Seattle experience.
