Location was very good in a safe upscale part of town. House and rooms were as good as the pictures suggested. Our host did a first rate job. Bed was comfortable. The only negative was with a name like Bacon one would have assumed that we might see a slice at breakfast but no. No bacon, just fruit cerial, and muffins.

Just returned from four days of "girl time" in Seattle with a friend and we were delighted to stay at the Bacon Mansion. Capitol Hill affords all the amenities of numerous restaurant varieties, boutique stores, bookstores, grocery store and frequent bus service to downtown and yet, the Bacon Mansion is a couple blocks off the main street so is in a very quiet neighborhood. The rooms are clean, spacious and beautifully decorated; breakfast is served in the elegant dining room; we were welcome to play the baby grand piano in the living room; and there is a nice area outside for sitting with a glass of wine at the end of the day. Free wifi. Friendly and informative host and a fantastic location!!!!

This place is right downtown in the Capitol Hill area. Great place to stay and central to everything. Clean and hospitable with great ambiance. Many times better that some chain hotel. Friendly folks too.

Our room was wonderful and we were SO excited when we saw the kitchen. The reason we tend to book B&B's is the breakfast. They are such a treat and we really look forward to them. What a complete disappointment. If we simply wanted a nice room we could have easily booked a hotel that would have been more central and comparable in terms of décor. By looking at the other reviews it seems that the breakfasts are not an important part for other travellers, or perhaps they simply are not accustomed to the kinds of wonderful breakfasts that we have been presented at other B&B's. The table was pleasantly set, but the food was a complete let down. We won't be back.

The location is wonderful both in terms of its environment in a well established residential neighborhood, filled with mature trees and other plantings (walking home from dinner one evening the fragrance of roses was lovely), and also in terms of its proximity to an area of good restaurants and shops, even a movie theatre. It is also only two blocks to an access trail into Volunteer Park, a lush oasis that contains the Asian Art Museum and the plant Conservatory. Though away from the attractions of the downtown, they are easily accessible by bus 49, which has a stop only one block away and runs very regularly until late in the evening. I took it to attend an event at both the Paramount Theater and another at Benaroya Hall. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. I stayed in the second floor Rose Room. The weather was warm enough that I kept the window open and fell asleep to the sound a fountain bubbling below. The bed however was so high I almost couldn't get in. It really was a challenge (I'm 5'5"). The freshly made muffins were a treat, but otherwise the breakfast was nothing special and did not include any protein. Even most cheap motels now have at least hard boiled eggs. and the afternoon cookies came in pre-packaged portions. Yes, I tried one but didn't finish it. Would I stay there again? Yes, but because of its convenience.

My wife and took an Alaskan Cruise with my parents and came back and spent three nights in Seattle. We had the carriage suite and loft. Staff was very friendly and helpful in providing information and making sure things were going well. Rooms were great. Location is perfect with great restaurants a few blocks away. Breakfast was tasty and meeting all the other travelers was a treat. I will recommend this place to anyone wishing to stay in Seattle.

Room Tip: If you need two rooms, the carraige suite and loft give great privacy/quiet as it is separate from t...

The B&B looks and feels traditional, lots of wood, staircases up and down, an upstairs balcony, a library room, a sitting room, etc. There is a large patio area with tables and chairs. It is in a residential neighbourhood on the corner of two quiet, narrow streets.

Breakfast is at a large table though some preferred to sit outside on the patio. It included freshly baked muffins, cereal and yoghourt, fresh cut fruit, coffee tea and juice.

Daryl was more than willing to help with where to visit or dine. There is hot water for tea or coffee in the early morning and in the evening as well as good quality store-bought cookies for a snack.

The room was clean with good bedding. Wireless internet was present both in the room and on the patio.

It is a 10 minute walk to the main Capitol Hill business district. It is about 2 1/2 blocks to Volunteer Park and the Asian Art Museum. The terminus of Metro's number 9 bus is about two blocks. There are some car parking spaces at the property and there were spaces on street nearby.

Room Tip: Room size and amenities vary with price from the spacious suites to the small dormer rooms.
