Loved this quirky, modern hotel in Seattle. It was clean and comfortable and staff were very hospitable and accomodating. They were great in suggesting activities and arranging ground transportation for us. We loved the shower amenities and complimentary bottled water. Also great was the cupcakes! We would have loved to use the complimentary bikes, but we were not there long enough to use them. Great location in Seattle with an easy walk to the Space Needle and moderate walk to the Public Market.

The consierge took about half an hour before they woul let me in because of some bogus Hotel policy and the Parking spaces are terribly small. I would not reccomend this hotel (although maybe my experience was an outlier;(

Let me just say, after 9 days in a new resort in Mexico last month (Feb 2013), Hotel Five Seattle ::: FAR ::: exceeded my expectations w/being a fabulous little gem in Downtown Seattle last weekend (March 2013). And trust me, I'm pretty high maintenance when it comes to hotels with all of my allergies (eg. dust, mold, pet fur, etc.) & OCD. I even do quick inspections when I check into rooms to make sure everything meet my standards. Not even kidding. I even brought my Mom to Seattle too for a long weekend too (4 days) & I set her up in her own room too, so we didn't have to share. We were both ::: impressed :::. We even took pictures of our rooms. From the hardwood floors (beautiful) & the cute bathroom (nice size too) with not a speck of mold any where & AWESOME Tommy Bahama bath products on the walls & in the shower. Who has this? So much better than those mini bottles that 99% of hotels have. Oh & I absolutely LOVED the coconut scent too. From the shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bath wash & hand soap. LOVED! Kudos to amazing Staff as well. From Andrew (awesome) when we checked in & he made sure we got our 3rd night free in both room(s) along with Cree & Riley at the front desk too. Even the night staff after midnight was great but sadly I didn't get their names! The Staff in the restaurant was great too when we'd roll in 20 mins before they closed! Oh but let's not forget the free coffee, donuts (surplus from Top Donuts) and the pineapple cupcakes which were :: AWESOME :: in the lobby too. Wow! Oh & get this FREE bottled water & coffee in the room too!! Thank you Hotel Five Seattle for all the perks! You even have bikes in the lobby to use!! Wow. You have a return customer(s)! Please don't change this model though. You have a good thing going & we're excited to come back! If I could mention two improvements though? We did notice the housecleaning kind of slipped on the 3 night with missing towels & water but hey, who's perfect? They did a great job the 1st (2) nites though. FANTASTIC! Seriously! Also, for visitor's out of town (eg. Oregon) it would be nice if you waived the sales tax in your restaurant too. Other establishments did when we whipped out our licenses, even for a $5 transactions at local retailers. You have our Drivers license, credit card #, home billing address & we're spending hundreds of dollars (eg. 2 rooms) to stay there. So waiving the sales tax for non-Seattle residents should be a given. Make the effort. Other establishments do & we're spending far less money (eg. 1%) with them. Thank you Hotel Five Seattle! <3

Room Tip: Get a room on the floors with the ice coolers.

Our family had 2 rooms for 3 nights, and we found most everything to be very good with Hotel Five - great value for money in a pretty pricey city. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly and they accommodated a room move on the 2nd night with little hassle. The location was perfect for walking around most of downtown's sights - parked the car at check in and didn't use it again until we left. They have carefully placed everything you need in the room...despite the small size of the bathrooms, they are well laid out, the shower was great, and the in-room safe was easy to use. The children thought the hotel was really fun, despite not having a pool which we would most often look for, the location made up for it and afternoon cupcakes were a big hit with them. We had breakfast a few times in the hotel restaurant, both were great...a very reasonably priced little cafe. Some great restaurants within a few blocks (Icon Grill for one). I'm sure we'll be back!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the parking lot (space needle) are away from the roads, however avoid the small corner...

We only stayed one night but the hotel is close to everything. Easy walking to Seattle Center, downtown shopping and Pike Market. The hotel itself was very comfortable and clean. It has a urban decor that suits well in Seattle. The parking cost is reasonable compared to other downtown hotels which will save you some money. The free coffee and cute cupcakes were a nice litle touch. If your in need of a downtown hotel for a reasonable price this is your answer.

Phew! My last few hotel reviews have been negative, and I was worried that I was becoming a crank. But after a great experience at Hotel Five, it turns out that it’s not me!

The hotel is a former Ramada Inn, stylishly remodelled in bright primary colours and modern décor. The rooms are basic, compact and comfortable. Lots of extras included: WIFI, free bottled water, coffee and tea in the room, a room safe, & ironing board. Could use more closet space for sure, but there are lots of drawers. The bathroom was quite dark, but strangely roomy. There is also a small, basic workout room or if the weather is nice, they have complimentary bicycles. They even offer coffee/tea and adorable little cupcakes in the afternoon.

My biggest hotel issue is usually with noise at night, and although the room doors were not soundproofed, there are continuous fans that provide white noise and air circulation, perfect for sleeping. We stayed on the fifth (top) floor, facing the monorail/street, it was an interesting view and not noisy at all.

The hotel is an extremely good value for its Belltown location, and they offer special rates as well. It’s within easy walking distance of the major sites like Pike Place Market, Nordstrom’s, the Seattle Art Museum and many excellent restaurants. Parking can be ridiculous in downtown Seattle, but was only $15 here. Underground parking was a little dark and sketchy.

I was most impressed by the front desk staff, they were friendly and extremely helpful. We got an early check-in, great advice on restaurants and places to see off-the-beaten track. I would definitely come back here again.
