“Picture perfect”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

We had a great time walking around this garden. The colors of the trees this time of year were gorgeous. We took some really nice family pictures here and I think everyone else had the same idea. It isn't a huge garden so it doesn't take a lot of time to get around it, but there are a scattering of benches you could sit at and enjoy the scenery. We had a baby stroller with us and were still able to go most places in the garden. We had to park at the cross street past the garden because the parking lot was full and after driving through it a few times we just went up the street. There is a sidewalk to get back to the garden but it really isn't kept up well. The start of a paved trail through the arboretum was located across the street from the parking lot exit if you just want to see the free section, this part was also really pretty.

“Beautiful property right off a busy street”
Reviewed 5 October 2013

This such a beautiful park. Too bad it is right off a busy street with cars constantly going by. The cars make it hard to enjoy the tranquility of what a Japanese tea garden should be. The grounds and stunning and the ponds are full of Koy which will gather around you looking for food any time you get near the water. If you like tea gardens, I would still recommend making the trip. The admission was very reasonable.

“A must see”
Reviewed 10 September 2013 via mobile

My husband and I toured the gardens on Saturday, September 7. It was a clear and sunny day, making it ideal for visiting. The grounds are incredibly manicured, and a koi pond sits in the middle of luscious greenery. I took two dozen pictures or so, and could have taken more. One spot was more beautiful than the other. Throughout the gardens, there are benches for you to sit and take it all in. This truly was my favorite site in Seattle.

“Nice side trip when (and only when) visiting the Washington Arboretum”
Reviewed 8 September 2013

The Japanese Tea Garden is a paid section of the Washington Arboretum. If you are planning to visit the arboretum, then by all means make a stop at the Japanese Tea Garden. However, if you are only visiting Seattle and staying near Pike's Market (as most tourists do), be aware this is quiet a haul and only worth visiting if you are going to make an entire day of it by spending time in the arboretum as well.

“Water, water, everywhere”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

We had a wonderful time. We got there and they had a guided tour. The guide told you a lot of history of Japanese gardens and their design. Made me want to go home and build one in my backyard.
