Owner description: This large, recreational lake is great for renting an electric boat, kayaking and admiring the Seattle skyline. The new South Lake Union Park is open and easily accessible from downtown by Streetcar.

“It was beautiful.”
Reviewed 19 September 2013 via mobile

We were on the lake for half an hour. It was beautiful and calm. We saw the Gasworks Park and the houseboats. We saw the "Sleepless in Seattle" houseboat. It was fun. We rally enjoyed it.

“Great place to kayak and sight see”
Reviewed 6 August 2013

We rented a double kayak from the Northwest Outdoor Center (aka NWOC) and had a blast kayaking around the lake. The houseboats are fun to look at as are the various marinas and yachts. If you like paddling, this is the thing to do. Most exciting were the seaplanes taking off and landing. One would think there'd be a runway of sorts with buoys but no! Paddle out of the way or you're likely to get landed on.

“Better when you are not on a Duck tour”
Reviewed 23 July 2013 via mobile

Fortunately friends of friends had a boat because if all I had seen of this lake was from the Duck tour, it would be a 1 star event. But from a boat, the floating homes were fascinating.

“very cool”
Reviewed 16 July 2013

from the wooden boats, to the lake front attractions to the float plane seaport, so much to see.

MOHIA, food trucks, walking paths, endless possibilities of stuff to do. Visited the lake front while in town visiting family and loved it, one of the many attractions in Seattle that are part of the lure to living in the emerald city.

“Houseboat Views”
Reviewed 21 May 2013

Rode the Seattle Streetcar down to Lake Union from downtown - enjoyed an hour tour on Lake Union on a smaller boat, the Fremont Avenue which docks right by the Armory (they sail on Fri, Sat & Sun). We circled the lake and saw the houseboats up close including the famous "Sleepless" one, Gasworks Park, and great views of the city. About half the price of the big boats.
