“Fantastic Hotel”
Reviewed 9 April 2012

The hotel's artistic design and furnishings were so cheerful. The bathroom was one of the best I have ever had. The shower was spacious and great water pressure. The hair dryer was state of the art. Coffee maker with real cream was great. Bed and linens were wonderful. Although the monorail which brings you right to the heart of the city is a short walk, the hotel offers a free shuttle service which was wonderful. Nearby are some great places for breakfast (Pesos and Toulouse Petite Restaurant). The Rock (bar) is a nice place for a drink and a light snack. The staff was so helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly go back if we ever return to Seattle.

Our room at The Maxwell Hotel was large and comfortable. The beds have pillow top mattresses and nice crisp sheets. The towels are thick and thirsty and there were plenty of them.

The room had hardwood floors with a rug in the bed area. There is an entry alcove before actually entering the room space that makes the bed area more private. The walk-in shower was large and we enjoyed the soap and shampoo dispensers on the wall rather that individual small bottles.

The tiny pineapple cupcakes in the lobby in the afternoon were a nice treat as was the coffee in the lobby and the Kurig coffee maker in the room.

The hotel provides free parking in their underground garage.

Thank you for leaving comments about your stay on TripAdvisor. Your kind words mean a lot to our staff, but they also help us tremendously on the word of mouth front!

We are delighted that you enjoyed our hotel and it's amenities. A lot of thought was put into the design of the hotel and we love when our guests notice! The soap dispensers in the bathroom go a long way to keeping plastic out of landfills. We're glad you found them more useful than the small bottles.

We promise to keep the cupcakes and coffee coming. Come back and see us again soon.

I would have given this hotel five stars, were it not for the fact that it can get a little noisy due to the un-carpeted floors and slamming doors in the hallways. But let me tell you, this place has perks that made up for it. The mattresses and pillows were SO COMFY. Keurig coffeemakers in the rooms, real creamer, not the powder stuff, raw sugar. Golf umbrellas hanging in the closet...we used those every day. Fluffy towels and lots of them. Huge flat screen tv. Room service pizza from The Rock on-site (not great pizza, but it was very convenient and they'll bill your room). A free shuttle that took us downtown and would have picked us up too, if we had wanted. Pet friendly, and not just lap dogs under 25 pounds either, they will allow big dogs, which I have, so that made me happy. Also, the room was spotless. Staff was very accommodating. Walking distance to lots of restaurants, the Metropolitan Market, etc. I parked my vehicle in their free onsite parking and walked everywhere the entire time I was there. Just a great place to stay, and I will be back.

Very comfortable hotel, offering large clean and modern rooms in a quiet location. The hotel isn't right in the centre of Seattle but the monorail is a 5 min walk away and there is a supermarket close by also along with the Space needle and music museum( can't remember the exact name). You can walk to the main shopping district and pike place market if you don't mind a 25 minute walk or so. There is a big and busy affordable restaurant downstairs. Nice little touches like a microwave in the room and popcorn to enjoy your big screen tv with. Overall a great place to stay in Seattle.

The Maxwell Hotel was lovely in every way. My 12 year old daughter and I spent 3 nights here. The location is perfect - we had no need for a car and felt perfectly safe walking around in the evening. We appreciated little details like popcorn in the room for late night movie-watching, a small shelf in the entry-way of the room perfect for housing the room key, and free friendly shuttle service to the light rail station on the day of our departure. The decor has personality, the rooms are spotless, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable - and the hotel is within easy walking distance of Toulouse Petit - easily the BEST restaurant breakfast I have ever had.

Spent a weekend in Seattle in early March and stayed at the Maxwell Hotel right near the Space Needle. The staff was excellent, from the front desk to the friendly shuttle drivers, we could not have been in better hands. The on site restaurant, the Rock is very good for pizza/apps and the staff there is also eager to please.
Rooms at the hotel are very clean/modern. The WiFi was touch and go while we were there, the manager responded to a review I left of the hotel and commented that they were actually fixing the router on the floor.
I would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the Space Needle (street side of the hotel).

I stayed on work for 2 nights earlier this month. If location were the prime consideration, this hotel should have been in Seattle's Top 10. A block away from the local supermarket and drugstore that are open 24 hours, 5-6 blocks away from famous Pike Place and about 2 blocks away from the all-seeing Space Needle & EMP Museum are just some of the attractions. Local city buses and taxis are available in plenty. Elliott Avenue, the Cruise Terminal and the piers are also merely 10 blocks away.
You've gotta love the free Pineapple cupcakes and coffee in the lobby as well as the complimentary umbrellas and WiFi in the room, not to mention a few bicycles available from the Front Desk.
I took a standard room on the 4th floor with a view of the Space Needle. Comfortable, spacious and well furnished. Bathroom has plenty of space too and is adequately equipped. Security conscious folks will be pleased that you need a valid key card to access the elevators.
Front Desk staff were always eager to assist, knowledgable and friendly. Late check out at 1pm was no problem for both our rooms and the Town Car to the airport was competitively priced and VERY comfortable.
My only gripes are: no breakfast (small but well priced coffee outlet in the lobby) and no bell men to help with luggage. However, now that I know, I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Higher floor street facing rooms will have a lovely view of the Space Needle.
