Fun, funky hotel with great service. They go the extra mile with nice touches like good in-room coffee with real cream and afternoon treats for guests.
Unique location made navigation through the city easier.
We also enjoyed restaurant downstairs.
Oh, and do put in a reservation for shuttle...not always available.
Great place to stay.

We are glad that you enjoyed our fun, funky hotel! The shuttle is definitely first come, first serve but we can fit 13 passengers so, unless its going in a different direction, we can usually take a good amount of guests. Come back soon!

My family and I stayed at the Maxwell Hotel for two nights prior to an Alaska cruise in July. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to the EMP Museum and Space Needle (probably 5-6 blocks) but we didn't even need to walk because the free hotel shuttle was available. We also used the shuttle to take us to and from Pike Place Market, and it worked like a charm. Saved us a bunch of $$$ on cabs.

There are also some really great restaurants within walking distance of the hotel (also about 5-6 blocks, but in the other direction, on Queen Anne Street). We highly recommend Toulouse Petit and Peso. There is also a grocery store within walking distance, about halfway to Queen Anne Street.

The hotel was nice and clean with a modern, IKEA-esque decor and furniture. We had a standard double queen room, which was fine for our family of four. The room was spacious, clean and nicely appointed. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was large, although it was kind of weird because there was no shower curtain/door. The "Queen Anne Hill view", as others have said, was of the Queen Anne Hill neighborhood, but with a boarded up apartment building in the foreground (behind the hotel), which is kind of unfortunate but was not a big deal. We didn't think it was worth paying an extra $40 per night for a Space Needle view when we were hardly ever in the room.

We used the indoor pool which was nice but was highly chlorinated.

We made sure to stop by the front desk area between 3-7pm every day for a complimentary cup of coffee and pineapple/coconut mini cupcakes. The cupcakes were decent, but nothing special. The free coffee was good. I think it was Starbucks. Speaking of coffee, the Pineapple Espresso coffee place makes excellent coffee! And if you like flavored coffee, get the homemade caramel in your coffee for 60 cents. We loved it!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Maxwell Hotel and will definitely stay here again the next time we find ourselves in Seattle.

We had a wonderful stay at the Maxwell. The rooms were clean, bright, comfortable and spacious. We also found the staff to be very accommodating and helpful with restaurant recommendations. The location is perfect, too. Ten minute walk to the Space Needle, Chihuly exhibit and Experience Music museum. It's about a 25 minute walk to the waterfront. We will definitely stay here again!

Stayed at The Maxwell for two nights after a cruise to Alaska. The hotel is conveniently located close to the EMP Museum, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Chihully Gardens and the Space Needle among others. Our room was ample, beds comfortable. Service was perfect. The hotel has a complimentary shuttle which we used to get to Pike Place Market and the Ferry terminal to Bainbridge Island. Hotel offers no room service but guests have access to an adjacent restaurant "The Rock" where you can get the typical american menu (burgers, pizzas, etc). For breakfast, there are several restaurants nearby or there is also the option of a small deli in the hotel where you can get coffee, bagels and a few pastries. Overall we were very pleased with the hotel and would consider staying there in any future visit to Seattle.

This was our 2nd visit to Seattle and The Maxwell Hotel -- my teenagers refused to stay anywhere else! When making reservations for 4 days I was in a panic because one of days was sold out so I called them to be put on a wait list. The desk clerk checked the date for me and was able to book us for the entire 4 days! The location is perfect, within walking distance to the Seattle Center attractions and the monorail system into the Pike's Market area. The tree lined streets and more residential area surrounding the hotel is a perfect home base when spending all day in the city's hustle and bustle. The decor is AMAZINGLY funky and cool -- I want their interior designer to come decorate my house! The rooms are large and roomy, the beds super comfortable, and the bathroom is large with great smelling Tommy Bahama soaps/shampoos. And as everyone comments on...the afternoon Pineapple cupcakes are not to be missed. Another great stay at The Maxwell!

We stayed here for 1 night, in a third floor room.

Reservations were easy and smooth, with good follow-up by the hotel.
The Maxwell is a modern designer hotel. It is sleek, fun and very nice to look at. The designers definitely paid attention to detail.
The beds were the most comfortable I’d slept in, in a long time.
Parking was free, and booking in was friendly and hassle-free.
The room was every attractive and pristine in all respects, and everything worked.
The hotel staff were happy to show us where to go, and the major attractions, like Chihuly Garden and Glass, were just a short stroll away.
Every afternoon there are free coffee and delicious cup-cakes in the foyer for guests. It was just the right thing to have when we arrived.

Bear in mind:

The floors of the rooms are wood, not carpet. Movements of the people in the room above you are clearly audible and quite bothersome. If you are on any floor other than the top one, and a light sleeper, the noise from the floor above would be a problem.

Breakfast is different: You order and pay from a little booth-type arrangement in the foyer, where a delightful guy is both cook and barista. The breakfast menu consists of only 3 or 4 items, but the bagel with salmon that we picked was generous, simply delicious and fresh, and the coffee was superb.

We would stay there again because of the cool style, comfort and warm welcome - but pick a top floor room because of the wooden floors.

Room Tip: Book a top floor room if you are a light sleeper.

I'm sorry for the noise with the person above you. Please feel free to request a high floor next time and we will do our best to accommodate you.
