“Central location between Safeco/Qwest and Pike Place Market”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2011

Just returned from 2 night trip to Seattle and stayed at Courtyard. If you're going to a game AND wanting to spend time at Pike Place Market and/or shopping district, this is a great place to stay. The property was clean and the staff provided very good service. Here are some pros & cons:
PROS
- proximity to stadiums - approx 15 min walk along Occidental through Pioneer Square
- rooms, room with 2 queens was a great size, was clean and comfortable
- staff provided good customer service

CONS
- don't get a room on Cherry St side near the alley. The garbage trucks arrived between 10pm - midnight and they were very loud.
- rooms generally weren't sound proof so if you like silence, you will be challenged to sleep.
- $28 valet parking but I assume all hotels in downtown area would be similar.

If you are going to Seattle to just go to shopping district, you should look for a hotel near that area but if you are doing that and going to a game, this is a great place.

Rather surprised this hotel is not ranked higher because we felt this hotel was excellent for several reasons: good value (although we used points), great pub-like place for breakfast that was very good and reasonably priced, excellent location for walking to the downtown shopping area, staff were VERY helpful, cabs were always easy to get. Made dinner reservations for us to eat at Salty's and had the restaurant's limo van pick us up and return us - excellent service! One of the top 10 in our book!

Let me start off by saying the hotel is great! Newly renovated and everything was shining. We had two rooms side by side and the room with the two queen beds was huge and the beds were very comfortable. The only thing I hated was the noise, we were on a lower floor and you can hear EVERYTHING from the streets. The windows would also not close all the way and you can feel the cold air coming from there.
The hotel does have a very nice fitness room and indoor pool.
The female staff were very nice but there were two guys at the front desk that were ignorant and not friendly. (middle aged guy with dark hair especially)
They also do not provide any transportation anywhere, they told us to walk and the neighborhood had a lot of weird people and was told by others it was not safe.
Overall, hotel was fine and I would probably stay again. Hopefully they'll train some of the staff better.

Great hotel in old "Alaska building." Just renovated so you get the ambiance of an old hotel, yet the newness of a just completed renovation. And the desk staff couldn't be nicer, or more efficient. We'll be back. Parking can be an issue, and a bit expensive so plan in advance. Highly recommended. Beds extremely comfortable - you will not have any trouble sleeping.

We stayed here for one night on our return from Victoria, BC. Our room was large, the hotel is new, in the renovated 1904 Alaska Building. It was well located, close to the light-rail line to the airport. Having just stayed at the Marriott Victoria Inner Harbor, this was a let-down, although we paid almost the same for a room in both hotels. Maybe Seattle is more expensive for hotels. The food could be better. Not much selection for dinner or breakfast, just the basics. Some street noise because the windows don't seal out noise well.

It was an excellent experience to stayed at this hotel. Nice room, with a big bathroom, great views of the city, near the market, restaurants and easy to eat places. Near the soccer stadium... clean.... nice place to stay, great services at the lobby by employees and the valet guys....

Recently remodeled as a hotel from a former office building, with a few mid-20th century touches in the lobby. Very nice guest room with upscale bedding and amenities such as iPod player and flat screen TV with a personal welcome message. Nicely updated bathroom too. Spoke to the hotel assistant manager in the restaurant and it seemed a lot of thought went into the renovation. Some tables in the restaurant have individual flat screen TVs for personal viewing -- nice if you are a solo diner.

Good location if you are there for a baseball or football game -- easy 15 minute walk. Complimentary umbrellas in the lobby to use if you encounter rainy Seattle weather. Nice, friendly staff too.
