Courtyard Seattle Downtown/Pioneer Square

The lobby was clean, staff was friendly, nice room. Closer to the sports venues. You can cut down your cab fare by staying there instead of downtown. However, if downtown is your destination, then you might want to stay some place closer to it. Everything a Courtyard should be. Coffee and computers in the lobby. They have a bar - beers were $3. Room was great, had a pull out sofa bed.

This Courtyard is a recent re-do of a historic Seattle office building. As a result, the exterior has some architectural charm while the rooms are in good physical shape. My particular room (a king) was tiny, but the bathroom was very large (go figure) and it had very high ceilings so it didn't feel that claustrophobic. Even though I had a high floor, there was prominent street noise such as trucks and sirens. Running the A/C fan continuously helped drown out some of this, but those who demand absolute silence may find it wanting.

The room had a small fridge but no microwave. The bed was very comfortable with good quality linens. The flat-screen TV had 60-ish channels of which over 50 of them were in hi-def. The wireless internet offered excellent speed, even when the hotel was full. There is the standard Courtyard Bistro restaurant that offers breakfast (OK but expensive) and light meals and a bar in the evenings. I found you could walk across the street and get a light breakfast for about half the price.

The hotel is located about a block from Pioneer Square. The Pioneer Square Link Rail/Bus Tunnel station is about a block away in the other direction. The ferry terminal is about 4 blocks from the hotel. I got around without a car with no problems. Be aware that the Pioneer Square area has many homeless people coming out after business hours and panhandling is common.

on the plus side: the room was pleasant and clean, great shower, and very convenient to amtrak, lite rail, and free bus to all the touristy stuff we wanted to do. lots of great things to do and see that are less than 2 blocks away or two bus stops up the hill, nice walk back down.
on the down side: the room was small for more than 2 people, daughter slept on fold out sofa, this left little room for any movement, hotel did not make up bed for her, did not include a third cup. (they don't seem prepared for families) also: there is a blinking light that flashes right over the bed!

Very nice hotel, good location, within walking distance to most downtown Seattle attractions ( 10 minute walk to Safeco field). Room was very nice, clean, comfy beds, nice linens and pillows and larger than expected. Good work out facilities , but tiny pool in basement ??? Valet parking 28$ ,but paking in Seattle is expensive.
Staff was helpful and pleasant as with most Marriott hotels. Business centre had ample computers and decent printer.

Room Tip: higher floors if you want a view

In a nutshell it is clean and new feeling and a good value.

Overall we liked it and it met our needs but it felt like an apartment more than a hotel and had no energy to it, if that makes sense. Finally, if you stay here as for street side as the back alleyr side gets dumpster visits regularly.

Just returned from 2 night trip to Seattle and stayed at Courtyard. If you're going to a game AND wanting to spend time at Pike Place Market and/or shopping district, this is a great place to stay. The property was clean and the staff provided very good service. Here are some pros & cons:
PROS
- proximity to stadiums - approx 15 min walk along Occidental through Pioneer Square
- rooms, room with 2 queens was a great size, was clean and comfortable
- staff provided good customer service

CONS
- don't get a room on Cherry St side near the alley. The garbage trucks arrived between 10pm - midnight and they were very loud.
- rooms generally weren't sound proof so if you like silence, you will be challenged to sleep.
- $28 valet parking but I assume all hotels in downtown area would be similar.

If you are going to Seattle to just go to shopping district, you should look for a hotel near that area but if you are doing that and going to a game, this is a great place.

Rather surprised this hotel is not ranked higher because we felt this hotel was excellent for several reasons: good value (although we used points), great pub-like place for breakfast that was very good and reasonably priced, excellent location for walking to the downtown shopping area, staff were VERY helpful, cabs were always easy to get. Made dinner reservations for us to eat at Salty's and had the restaurant's limo van pick us up and return us - excellent service! One of the top 10 in our book!
