“Such a great find!”
Reviewed 29 August 2013

Had a great one night stay at 9 Cranes Inn with my boyfriend. Shelley was very helpful and full of information. The house is adorable with a cute library full of books about activities to do in and around Seattle. Walked to Fremont to go to the Theo Chocolate Factory and also to Green Lake, the zoo and rose garden. I am allergic to gluten, dairy, and corn and Shelley made a wonderful breakfast that I could eat. We appreciated the great hospitality and highly recommend 9 Cranes Inn. Thank you Shelley!!!

We were so lucky to have found the 9 Cranes Inn - a year ago now and we've been back three times. Quiet, comfortable, immaculately clean - decor that soothes the senses and makes you feel at home! Not a good time to start a diet as the homemade cookies and brownies for afternoon snacking and gourmet breakfast accommodating individual needs is too good to say no to. Shelley is the perfect hostess, knowledgeable about the area, with excellent recommendations. We are happy to live close enough to drive to Seattle and have an excuse to visit family and friends there so that we can stay...you won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: The Phinney Ridge Room is our favorite, and has extra space if our son comes along!

We booked four nights based on reviews here. Ballard View room is gorgeous, spacious, and private with a wonderful deck. Location convenient, easy street parking, delicious food and homemade snacks. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Really couldn't have been nicer.

The 9 Cranes Inn was a great find. This is a wonderful alternative to staying downtown. Shelley has done a fantastic job renovating her B&B. Everything is clean, pleasant, and the rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was not only beautiful but delicious. We parked our car at 9 Cranes Inn and took the bus to see the magnificent Chiluly exposition down by the Space Needle ( absolutely not to be missed) monorail to Pikes Market and the bus back. Very easy and the bus driver was friendly and very helpful. Shelley is knowledgeable about the area and is very helpful. If you are looking for day trips outside of Seattle visit Kirkland on the Wednesday market days or drive an hour to La Conner an hour north, sea coast village, see tulips in the spring and nice shopping for crafts and women's clothing. Or you can taste wine in Woodinville. All an easy day trip from 9 Cranes Inn. You can't go wrong staying there, actually it is a treat!

Room Tip: There is one room on the first floor if you don't want to climb steps. Shelley's staff will...

My husband, parents, and I recently spent 4 nights at the 9 Cranes Inn. My parents, who are in their 90's, stayed in the Fremont room, and my husband and I were in the Phinney Ridge room. Staying on the second floor with my parents was very convenient for us. The stairs were a concern for them, but we just took it slow and easy. The rooms were beautifully decorated and modern, as well as being comfortable, clean, and roomy. Coffee was ready every morning at 7 and the breakfasts were delicious, healthy, and filling. Freshly baked cookies or brownies were prepared daily. Shelley and her assistants were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The Inn is close to Downtown Seattle, and to many fun neighborhoods such as Green Lake, Ballard, and Fremont. There are so many wonderful restaurants close by, it was hard to choose. The zoo is just a few blocks away. We would definitely return to this lovely B & B.

Room Tip: There are only 4 rooms. Depending on your needs, I think they are all very nice.

Shelly greeted us at the door and showed us all of the basics. The Ballard room was perfect; private deck with lounge chairs, beautiful shower and over sized Jacuzzi tub. The room has sky lights which was not problematic for sleeping, although eye masks were provided. The in room air conditioner kept the room nice and chilly. Breakfast was raspberry pancakes and some fruit, very basic. The coffee was really good and Shelly had no problem making an extra pot as well as extra pancakes at our request. I appreciated the open conversation and feedback during breakfast. I liked that there was no minimum night requirement since we only had one night in Seattle. She suggested we head out to the Ballard Locks which was totally worth the trip. The inn was very easy to find and very close to everything. I would return.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the Ballard room

Great hosts, Fantastic breakfasts, Really cool rooms. Each room is roomy and has it's own bath. The upstairs room is one of a kind. Not cheap, but they earn the price they charge. An easy bus ride to Pikes Market and not far from the zoo. If you are looking for a bit of a special experience, this is the place.

Room Tip: Call the owners and have them give you a description. The attic room is quite special and the first...
