“Not a bad experience”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014

Overall, this hotel is not bad. It is a bit of a bus ride from King Street Station, and it is isolated from much of the city's attractions, without a lot to do close by. It's actually in Shoreline, and is only a short walk from the King-Snohomish County line. It also had a lot of construction around it, which made getting to the bus stop difficult.

That being said, my actual stay here was a good experience. The room was clean and comfortable, with a good A/C system (I get hot easily, so this is always a must for me) and a nice shower. The bed was comfortable and spacious to spread out on, and I slept well.

The staff at the front desk were kind, and helped me find my way to the bus stop. They also helped me get acquainted with the area.

If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay and don't mind being away from Downtown Seattle, I would recommend this hotel. If you insist on being closer to the centre of the city, I'd look elsewhere.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the road!

Though this property looks reasonably modern on the outside, the inside has not seen any renovations since it was built. It is in a light-industrial area of nondescript strip-malls and car yards, and in addition there are major roadworks taking place along Aurora Avenue Nth which can hamper ingress into and egress from the property. Rooms are dark, poky and depressing; sink right at the entry door and a miniscule bathroom containing only the bath/shower and the toilet. No in-room safe, or refrigerator and the beds are uncomfortably soft; like sleeping on a sack of marshmallows. The usual disappearing pillows are present, and when we asked for more, as a reply we got: 'we are only allowed to give out one.' Uuhmm, OK, thank you for the service, and do excuse us for our patronage. On this note, staff seem aloof and largely uninterested. There is wi-fi, but it is unstable and we spent more time trying to re-connect than making good use of it. A limited breakfast is offered, but we did not take advantage of this. This hotel failed on our usual, very basic litmus test: at the end of a long day, we did not look forward to going back to our room and it was not a nice space to be in. The Days Inn Group seriously need to review the standards of this property that carries their name,

I don't understand why so many reviews that I have read about this hotel are negative towards this place. Not just on here but on other review sights. This is not the Ritz so don't expect it to be. If you want a $300 dollar a night experience, then book the Ritz or Hilton. But if you want a good nights sleep, with nice friendly service and throw in a hot waffle and fruit or cereal for breakfast, at a very competitive price for the area, then this is your place to book. I love how clean the whole place is. Not beat up and worn out like other motel/hotel chains of this caliper are. The guy at the front desk was awesome. He always had something nice to say and was very friendly.
The only bad thing I have about this location has nothing to do with the hotel it's self. There is some heavy road construction going on in front and they start very early. I know it's not the hotel's fault but I couldn't give a full 5 circles, due to that.
I'd like like to say that this Days Inn made our 2 days in Seattle, very pleasant.
