Love this place. Go early. Gets crowded and parking a challenge but worth what ever you need to do to get there.

This restaurant is absolutely worth the wait! I have been to this restaurant many times and every time I'm more and more impressed with the food and the creativity of the chefs. I would absolutely encourage you to get out of your comfort zone and try something new!

A diamond in the rough- from the moment you walk in the door, you know you are in store for something special. The oysters are fresh and delicious and the smoked trout is a must! Amazing service and wine pairing as well.

We decided that our last night in Seattle was going to be a progressive dinner in five or so restaurants and bars starting at 5:00pm. We planned on The Walrus and the Carpenter for around 7:00pm and were warned..."the wait should be around 2 hours at that time and they don't take reservations!"

Just as we missed the "Rain Festival" with mid-70s cloudless days in our three-day jaunt in Seattle, we missed the lines and the wait that was wrongfully forseen for us at this oyster haven. Arriving at 7 on the dot, five of us feasted on 7 varieties of oyster by 7:10, drank the cocktails that had been served, paid our check and continued on our most excellent gastronomical adventure...satiated and unimpeded!

The selections were:

Wolf Beach (Marinelli), Totten Inlet, WA.,
Effingham Inlet (Marinelli), Effingham Inlet, BC.,
Blue Pool (Hama Hama), Hood Canal, WA.,
Deer Creek (Penn Cove), Hood Canal, WA.,
Treasure Cove (Emerald Acres), Eld Inlet, WA.,
Penn Cove (Penn Cove), Whidbey Island, WA., and
Hama Hama (Hama Hama), Hood Canal, WA.

Guess we were lucky and we definitely left feeling what Lewis Carroll tried to impart in the last phrases of his poem:

O Oysters,' said the Carpenter,
You've had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?'
But answer came there none —
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd eaten every one.",

...you will too!
