My date had a conference at the Seattle Convention Center next door to the Grand Hyatt and asked me to tag along for some Seattle recon on the eating and drinking scene. I'm not a big fan of "business hotels" like the GH. They do know their target audience and cater to their whims. I just needed a place to sleep and shower between the eating, running and drinking. It works for that, too.
The rooms are on the small side, with the bathroom getting an unfair proportion of the space. It's comfortable in a corporate kind of way. We hit the steakhouse right off the lobby for happy hour one night and it was pretty good and a great value. There are a couple other restaurants onsite. There really was no other reason to hang around, unless you had a boarding pass to print. The lobby is very subdued, muted to the point of forcing a nap. It is in the heart of everything with the market, waterfront, space needle and other Seattle landmarks just steps away. There are times when the upscale, business traveler experience mixes with the hip and interesting branding of many modern hotels, this isn't one of them. It is nothing short of a bullseye for hitting the business traveler and convention-going target.

I spent 3 nights here recently doing business in Seattle. This hotel has a wonderful layout, surprisingly spacious rooms for mid-city and great facilities across the board. My only main complaint is that you really walk away from this place feeling like you've been nickle-and-dimed a lot for stuff that should be complimentary, and I might suspect that comes from the vast majority of business travelers here on someone else's dollar. Bandwidth issues or not, I hate having to pay extra for internet in a $350/night room. Also, it cost me $35 to print a single 40-page contract in black and white at the business center, where I paid to use internet once again. There's nothing complimentary here past the room and service. Meals are very spendy and then there's the parking and hotel taxes bringing it on up to around the $450 range. Again though, you aren't looking for a bargain when staying in this part of town and the hotel is VERY nice. I just feel slightly annoyed by all the add-on's.

Room Tip: Corner suite was big and extremely well appointed.

First, I am a Hyatt Platinum Member, have been for many years, and second - this is was also my free award night from Hyatt for having their Visa Credit card.

My wife and I stayed here for one night on May-08-2013. When we checked in, we were upgraded to a corner suite with a view of the city, and to say that we were very~very happy would be an understatement. The corner suite gave a us a view of the city, really nice view.
The suite was spacious, clean and with a cheerful ambiance. Bathroom was very spacious, brightly lit, separate tub and shower, let's just say my wife really enjoyed the tub, relaxing etc..

On the ground floor of this hotel is, Ruths Chris steak house, starbucks, and a Japanese restaurant. We had both, dinner and breakfast at Ruths Chris, enjoyed both.

Hotel Staff was very courteous, helpful starting with (Kendall) reception, bellhop, valet etc....this hotel is perfect in that it is centrally located in downtown Seattle, walking distance to Pike Place, first starbucks coffee shop etc...

This Grand Hyatt will always be my first choice in Seattle.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: We had the corner suite; room 2610, offers a great view of the city

We really loved this hotel. The bathroom was sensational - lots of space and a beautiful big bath to relax in after a cold, windy day of sight seeing.
Our only complaint was being woken up by some drunken college kids having a party in the room next to ours at 2:30am and being loud outside our door for around 40 minutes. We called the front desk to complain and the issue was taken care of straight away with no further disruptions that night.
Our room had a wonderful view and our bed was massive and super comfortable. I'll definitely book with Hyatt anywhere else in the world when we travel. Thank you!

Stayed here for four nights recently and had a wonderful stay. Booked on the hotel website and did their express upgrade and it worked out great. We had a nice room with a water view. The bathroom is definitely the highlight of the room, wow...huge with separate tub and shower. Bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and quiet! The hotel is about a ten minute walk from Pike Place Market and very close to the monorail to Seattle Center and the light rail station. There is no bar or sundries shop in the hotel, but there is a small deli attached that had anything we needed. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to Seattle on a sightseeing trip!

The hotel is alright. It serves the purpose for sleeping. They don't have a bar, they recommend Ruth Chris Steakhouse for every food or drink need you might have!

There was something in the air in the room that was allergic to me. I was fine once i left the room. I am allergic to pollen and dust. The rooms are well kept.

Very high scores all around: location is very convenient to light rail ($2.75 to/from airport), shopping, eating and freeway; room was very up to date, clean and comfortable (my only ding is there was virtually no place to plug in a laptop and cell phone charger - a small power strip maybe); hotel has a Ruth's Chris, Starbucks and really good deli - you could never leave the hotel; staff was friendly, professional and went above and beyond to help. Definitely a place I would recommend for business or pleasure.
