“Wonderful Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 October 2013

Great location within walking distance of just about everything in downtown. A couple of blocks from the monorail station. Across the street from a shopping center. Many fine restaurants within a block or two. The hotel itself is very modern and clean. We had a great view from our room. We could see the needle in the distance and Pike's Place market as well. The bathroom is very large with separate shower and tub. We had a smoking room (one of the few left in Seattle) and they provide an in-room air filtration system next to an easy chair. We would definitely stay here again. It was a bit on the expensive side but not that much more than other hotels in the area and we thought it was worth the extra. There's a Starbuck's downstairs that we visited frequently and a deli next door for quick snacks. A block away is Blueacre which has very good seafood and a nice atmosphere.

Room Tip: Smoking rooms available!

Great location. One block from the convention center, and very close to shopping like Nordstrom's and good dining such as Blueacre. A Starbucks is attached. The King room was spacious, with a huge marble bathroom with separate tub and shower. Whole hotel was very clean and staff were friendly.Very nice linens, towels and robes. Only issues were no full length mirror that was not divided by shelves, a bathroom sink with no room to put a make-up or shaving bag and a lack of plug ins accessible for using the iron. Hotel planners need to consider women travelers a little more when they are designing spaces.

Second stay at this Grand Hyatt. Both experiences were very good. Rooms nice - not great but very clean. Some hall noise in room but hotel fairly quiet even though pretty full. Location is very central to both the shopping area downtown, pike market, and capital hill not far walk. Staff very helpful and friendly.

The Grand Hyatt is a wonderful hotel, the lobby and the rooms are tastefully appointed and the location is very convenient for shopping and tourism. The location is great for restaurants and tourism. You will be happy that you stayed here. If you can take advantage of the club room you will find a staff are eager to please, the food is very good with a nice variety of items to enjoy and there is plenty of room to spread out. You will pay extra for wine, but it is very reasonable. Enjoy-

This hotel is in the heart of Seattle and within walking distance of the monorail (to the Space Needle), Pike St. Market, shopping and dining. We were able to get a room at the last minute as we had to alter our travel plans. The hotel is very nice. The staff were tremendous, especially the bellman who helped with our luggage. He was humorous, engaging, and knowledgable of the city and sights to see. The room was good sized, beds/pillows were extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was large and nicely appointed. Due to the extremely wet weather, I chose to partake of the Spa services. These are located in the Hyatt Hotel which is across the street and about a half block away. Very, very nice! Large indoor pool, along with steam room, sauna, and shower facilities with all the amenities!

We usually like going to the Sheraton but went with the Grand Hyatt because of an offer through one of the blind discount sites. The room was new, clean and level of luxury we would expect for the price point but nothing more. The excellent service was what made the trip. The concierge was accessible, knowledgeable, and able to get us reservations at 2 very popular restaurants on very short notice, A complaint about a noisy neighbor in the middle of the night was dealt with quickly and efficiently. The morning after the complaint, we found a note offering a choice among a few small complimentary services for the inconvenience. Questions about accessing internet services were answered with one call. We wanted a relaxing weekend away. There were a few times that this goal was threatened but the excellently trained staff diverted what would have been an otherwise unpleasant experience. Well done! We will be back.

This is my first time staying at the Grand Hyatt downtown and I must say it was great. I've stayed at many other Hyatts before and I'm always impressed with their rooms and service. Grand Hyatt is a higher class of Hyatt hotels so you are going to be paying more.

To start off the location is great, right in the heart of downtown Seattle on pine street. It's very close all shopping areas downtown and pike market, all within walking distance! I enjoy walking around so I can explore the city.

There are 2 types of parking available: self $30 or valet $38-40 i think. We just did the self serve option for $30 (includes in and out privileges bur make sure you pre pay first at the pay station by the elevators) which i think is expensive! I think hotels should provide free parking. We did consider parking in a public lot elsewhere but this was convenient because it's attached to the hotel. plus it was underground and seemed safe. The front entrance is nice looking and the lobby is very spacious. Staff was friendly when we arrived, check in are quick and easy. We got a room on the 28th floor in a corner room with spectacular views of downtown. We got a room with a living room in the front and a spacious bedroom area. It was actually a very large room and we were pleasantly surprised! The bathroom was huge with a tub and shower, marble floors and counters and a separate room for the toilet. They included essentials like shower cap, qtips, cotton balls, hair dryer, robe and bath products. The only thing missing was toothpaste which I've seen other Hyatts provide. Of course you can always call and ask for it. Wifi is not free and you do have to pay for it. Again another thing I think should be included for free! However you can always get free wifi at Barnes and Noble, Starbucks or McDonald's!

The room also had a fridge, coffee machine, tea bags, cups and a safe. There was also a list on the bedside table for other things you could call and request for, which was nice! They had items on the list such as phone or laptop chargers, curling iron, nail polish remover, toothbrush and paste, and other things. I was impressed they would provide so many other things if you needed them!

I can't say too much about the food or restaurants in the hotel since we never ate in the hotel. There is a sushi place, Starbucks and Ruth Chris steakhouse attached to the hotel. But there are so many other restaurants outside the hotel you're probably better off eating outside anyway. There is fast food such as McDonald's closeby. And there's a Starbucks pretty much on every corner! Pike market is just a few blocks away and there's lots of eateries there. Also Cheesecake Factory is just around the corner, loved eating there!

Shopping wise there's lots of stores closeby, again all within walking distance: Nordstrom, Nordstrom rack, Nike, pacific place mall, Ross, forever 21, Barnes and Noble, anthropologie, jcrew, etc. There's also an arcade and movie theatre across the street from the hotel. Convention centre is also across the street.

Overall great stay at the Hyatt as usual! Highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for a downtown hotel close to restaurants and shopping.
