“Favorite Seattle Hotel!”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

My husband and I live in a nearby suburb of Seattle, but frequently attend conferences in the city and like to stay at the hosting hotel. Our favorite is the Grand Hyatt. We have stayed many times and visited again this May for 2 nights. The location is perfect - in the heart of downtown, near the
Convention Center and best shops & restaurants. Plus it's a 10 minute walk to the Pike Place Market. Rooms are quiet, bathroom is spacious, service is great and there is a self-parking garage attached to the hotel. This is a local's hotel of choice.

Found this hotel on hotwire! Had just gotten off cruise and headed straight to hotel at 9:00 AM. Room was ready and front desk agent was kind enough to get us on the 20th floor with view of the Sound. Room was spacious and very clean. Bathroom is AMAZING!!! Steam shower and soaking tub with great lighting.
Hotel is walking distance to everywhere downtown. 10 minute walk to Pike Place. 5 minute walk to Mono rail.

Room Tip: Ask for view of the Pugent Sound!

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt because I was attending a downtown Seattle conference and it was one of the selected conference hotels, although not the main hotel. I was upgraded to a corner king suite; the room was very nice, and convenient since I was with my husband. Two separate rooms always makes life easier on the road, especially for a longer stay.
The overall look of the hotel, including our room, was very fresh and pleasant. Very clean as well. We like the fact that many Hyatts now share space with Starbucks--very handy and a nice low-cost option for breakfast.
The hotel lived up to our expectations, which were not too high since it is not positioned as a luxury hotel, in most ways. We did find the service a bit off. It seemed as though there were too few staff available to help--long lines at check in and out--but then that may have been a result of staying over a holiday weekend.

Room Tip: The upgrade to a corner king was very worthwhile. If I return to this hotel I will ask for it again...

The service was excellent, staff pleasant and helpful. Immaculate hotel, with all facilities you would expect. The attached Steak House was very good.
Location is perfect, short walk to Pike Place Market etc.
The upper floors have great views of the harbour and city centre.

Room Tip: Upper floors have great views of the harbour - on one side of the hotel only..

From the moment you pull up to the valet parking you are treated with first class service. The front desk and all of the staff working at the hotel are friendly and helpful. The lobby isare amazing well adorned and the room was clean and beautiful. I had a average room which possibly was the least expensive room available and it was still better then a more expensive room at other hotels I have had the privilege to stay at. Unfortunately the one small draw back for me was the room I requested. I prefer a room on a higher floor away from the elevator. I got the high floor ....but my room was right smack in the front of the elevators! Ugh! I am sure if I mentioned it at the time of my stay the issue would have been addressed but I was very exhausted from traveling and did not want the hassle of changing rooms. The sound proofing was pretty good as I didn't hear a lot of foot traffic or elevator noise. The Hyatt did accommodate my early check in which I was very grateful to have honored.
Even the room location could not take away points from this beautiful hotel and with such a wonderful staff. Just a 10 minute walk to Pikes public market, and right in the middle of shopping and dining.
Wi-Fi was reasonable, parking Was what you would expect for a downtown hotel anywhere USA.
I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who is going to be staying in the Seatlle area. From this picky traveler Four stars + for sure :)
