Description: Across the street from the University Village in Seattle's University District , 50 North features farm fresh, local ingredients in unique, upscale American cuisine. Whether you're entertaining a pack of carnivores, vegetarians, vegans or gluten-freegans, there's something for everyone on the eclectic, seasonal menu at 50 North. Use your voucher on a gourmet pizza like the Chicken & Ratatouille, a thin crust topped with roasted chicken breast, red onions, fennel, apple, zucchini and pumpkin. Or go for one of their massive salads, like the vegan Warm Farro Salad, which combines red beets, apples and pears tossed in a sweet and savory pomegranate vinaigrette and served on a bed of Farro noodles. Burger snob? The 50 North Burger is a must, pairing local, grass-fed 'Thundering Hooves' beef with onion marmalade, grilled shiitake mushrooms and jack cheese on ciabatta bread, served with house-cut fries. We invite you to come on down for a great meal, the perfect martini, or a fantastic bottle of wine from our cellar. Experience our full-service espresso bar or enjoy lunch outside on the patio. Meet your family, friends or business colleagues at our new University Village gathering place for some great good food at 50 North!

Staying across the street at the Silver Cloud Inn made this restaurant an easy choice for an evening meal. 50 North offers their food to the residents of the hotel on their room service menu. The food here is well presented and seemed quite fresh. We ordered simple dishes of salmon and salads and they were perfect. The rustic bread was excellent as well. This is a perfect place for not only a romantic lunch or dinner but a good friends and business meeting place. The area is not huge for a super large gathering but for parties up to 10 or 12 it would be an excellent choice.

the wait staff was just perfect and they gave you just enough room to not make themselves an annoyance. All-in-all this was just a great and easy dining experience.

I am in Seattle for a week or so with my daughter to go to Children's Hospital. We are unique. I have Celiac and she is handicapped, severely. This place had a great gluten free selection as well as a kid friendly menu. The service was great and the atmosphere was super awesome. I'm going back tonight. Oh and they have a beer I consider gluten free.

Just took the family over to Seattle at 50 North, owned by the same folks who have the "Hardware Store" restaurant in Vashon. Similar menus, but slightly different execution of some of the meals. The fried chicken was to die for, and the marguita flatbread amazing!

This restaurant is located near University Village and initially seems like the location would not be that great. However, it is just enough away from a busy street that it is actually a nice respite. We went there for a late lunch on a very nice day, and it was pleasant to sit outside. The service was very good and we enjoyed the food. We lucked out and happened to be there during happy hour, which we learned is all day on Sunday and Monday. The prices are dramatically less then, as in half price or less. Two of us had the avocado and shrimp ceviche tostadas, and then one person had the salmon sliders. We also shared an order of the egg plant fries, which I would not recommend. They were kind of oily and not that flavorful. The wine selections were numerous, and the pours reasonably generous. Overall, a good experience and I would go back again, especially during happy hour. They also serve breakfast from 11:00 until 2:00 PM and 8 AM on the weekends.

After one bad and one fine experience at University Village, we decided to try the restaurant nearest our hotel--and it was a fine choice.

This is not a trendy restaurant, but one designed for good food, drink and service. The wait staff was great.

We enjoyed the fine menu and the realistic view that breakfast at 2PM is OK. The light two entrees were delicious and our vegetarian needs did not present any difficulties.

And even if you are not in the university area, this is a good place to stop and eat.
