I still like the Watertown for location and basic comfort but it's slipping in quality on some little things. They used to offer a continental breakfast bar. No longer. Now you have to pay for pre-fabricated sweet rolls and coffee. I walk down the block to the Portage Bay Cafe for breakfast instead. They also changed the soaps and shampoos in the rooms. Now it's liquid soaps in dispensers and they are not good quality. They have a "chemical" smell to them that clings to you all day. The in room coffee changed to those machines that take a capsule and make one cup at a time. Last two stays there my coffee machines didn't work and had to be replaced. And the coffee isn't very good either. But I still get a good night's sleep and there's on sight parking.

Rooms were very spacious and had nice amenities in the restrooms. Great location for business at or around the University.

They have thought of everything that makes travel comfortable. They call it Pineapple hospitality and it comes with mini pineapple cupcakes. A lovely breakfast with a charming seating area that is certainly more than a school cafeteria or a revamped former guest room. The shuttle makes everything quite accessible - from the UniversityVillage to the Space Needle. There are also bikes available too. Tommy Bahama lotion dispenser was a lovely treat.

We were a family of three. We enjoyed the layout of the room, the way they made it feel also like it had a kitchenette without taking up too much room. The window coverings darken the room nicely for sleep. The off-street parking was much appreciated for such a busy area and in the pouring rain. We didn't eat in the hotel cafe because our children wanted to go to Portage Bay Cafe down the street (terrific breakfast menu!). The staff was kind enough to give us another half hour before checkout. In the evenings, the lighting was a bit dim in the sleeping area, but the bathroom area was well-lit.

Room Tip: Though our room looked over several apartment buildings and University buildings, the Cascade mounta...

We stayed at the Watertown while in town visiting my son for the holidays. I found everyone to be friendly and helpful. When I found out that the continental breakfast had been discontinued recently, the clerk offered vouchers for free breakfast at their cafe. The king size bed was firm and the most comfortable I've had at a hotel, but I did flind the very slick sheets to be a little annoying, as the comforter slid off at night and things became untucked. The Keurig coffee maker In room was nice, as were the bathrobes. We enjoyed our view of the city at night. I can't wait to return in warmer weather, when we hope to make use of the complimentary bikes.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of Mt. Ranier, although this may upgrade the price.

I stayed at the Watertown Hotel while visiting my son for Christmas. My room had a wall of windows that overlooked the Seattle skyline including the Space Needle with it's Christmas tree on top and Mount Rainier. The room was well appointed and clean with a comfortable bed, plush towels, spa bathrobes, keurig coffee maker and Tammy Bahama bath product dispensers. The staff was friendly, courteous and very helpful. The hotel is within walking distance to the University of Washington, shopping and restaurants. The Pineapple Cafe within the hotel has the usual coffee shop fare (lattes, bagles, croissants). I had a wonderful breakfast a block from the hotel at the Portage Bay Cafe which had organic, local choices. Being vegetarian I am always looking for somewhere that offers more than a salad or veggie burger. I found Pizza Pi in the U District while on this trip. It is all vegan food. I had the best pizza. I will definitely stay at this hotel on my next visit.

I stayed 2 nights at the Watertown hotel while in town for business at UW. The hotel location is perfect for it's close proximity to campus, UW hospitals, and downtown. For under $100, the hotel is a steal! The room was much nicer than it looks in the pictures. Great layout, very nice bathroom. Bathrobes, Keurig, fridge and microwave were a plus, not to mention free wireless and parking! It's the best deal and nicest place out of all of the surrounding hotels if you ask me. The cafe in the lobby opens early if you want a latte or pastry before you head out, although within a square mile, there are plenty of fantastic food options. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel was, and definitely think it's the best bang for the buck!
