Great location within a few blocks of UW, free and easy shuttle van to various places downtown, bright yellow loaner cruiser bikes, free laundry, parking, wifi...lovely decor, nice people, spotless, Pineapple price guarantee...and teeny pineapple cupcakes late afternoon with coffee. What's not to love? We won't stay anywhere else next time.
Thank you to the kind staffer who upgraded us to a suite for our anniversary. You're a sweetheart!

Our second stay here, due to appointments at the nearby University of Washington Medical Center. Rooms are spacious. Small refrigerator and microwave included. Free laundry facilities: one washer and one dryer per floor. Free cupcakes in the lobby in the afternoon. Free Wi-Fi in rooms, and two free PCs (one with a working printer) off the lobby. Reservations accommodated our request for the top floor room in the back (to be away from the street) we had last time.

Mattresses are a bit hard. Didn't bother me much, but my wife said she did not sleep well.

Need to walk or use the hotel's shuttle to get to many restaurants. Staff suggested we walk to Ivar's, along the river. Not the best choice IMHO (nice décor, so-so food). Need to request the shuttle in advance, as if it's booked going one direction and you want to go to another, you may have to wait a while. We did use it to go to a shopping center where we caught light rail to the airport.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the rear.

Dear Sutter,

Hello again and thanks for such great commentary on the Watertown Hotel. We are glad you choose to stay with us when coming to the university district.

I am sorry your wife did not sleep well on our mattresses. They can tend to be on the firm side due to the construction of the bed. However, we are due to switch out our mattresses this year, which should offer you a more comfortable sleep experience.

Regards,

Wonderful hotel with friendly helpful staff. Have stayed here 3 times while visiting daughter at UW. Central to U District area. Great, spacious rooms with mini fridge, microwave, Keurig, umbrella and free bottled water, as well as Keurig cups. Internet free also and good desk for working. Each floor has stacked washer/dryer. All you have to supply is the detergent! Rooms have big windows for light, airy feel. Comfortable beds. Only drawback was the cafe which had problems with slow service or non-functioning cash register each time we visited. Plenty of local eateries within walking distance anyway. Their afternoon pineapple cupcakes are great and perfect after a day of exploring. High quality front desk service each time we stayed. Housekeeping prompt and excellent. Very comfortable place to stay at any time of year.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views. Book early for best rates.

This is a very nice hotel that is located near UW. The room we had was very large. It is not a fancy hotel but is well decorated. Lots of little things like an umbrella to use, a Keurig in each room, free WiFi, etc. Service was good but could have been better.

Walked to some great hangs, played around the eclectic surroundings, then slept like a log. All of us liked the Watertown immensely. Slightly expensive for the layout and services, but don't let anything draw you elsewhere in the vicinity. This is about as good as it gets.

Arriving at the hotel after dark we were cautious because the neighborhood didn't look too promising. As soon as we walked inside the hotel we were greeted by a gentleman with outstanding customer service. The check in process was very fast and pleasant. We parked our vehicle in their garage, which is TINY... but thankfully there were a few spots left for us. The elevator went straight from the garage to the room floors IF you have your key card. The extra security was nice. The room was perfect. I LOVED that there was no carpet!! It felt much much more sanitary. The layout of the room was perfect, open, flowing and the décor was nice to look at. We stayed in room 310 which is RIGHT NEXT TO THE BROKEN ELEVATOR. I spent half of the first night wondering why the guy upstairs kept scraping his chair against the floor every 5-20 minutes... then my husband informed me that it was the elevator. REALLY?? That took some getting used to, once I was asleep that noise didn't bother me, but it did get rather annoying when I was trying to fall asleep. We did not mention the noise to the hotel while we were staying. We were there to visit my husbands mom who just had surgery at UWMC. We used the shuttle service to the hospital and back, it was a relief to be able to take advantage of that and not have to drive in Seattle. The bed was firm and comfortable, blankets were clean and crisp. The pillows were perfect. Free coffee, popcorn, with a refrigerator and microwave in the room, The hotel soaps were not useless like they are in most hotels, the full bathtub/shower was clean, towels were soft and fluffy and the water stayed hot. Every employee we came across had amazing customer service!! I think that is what impressed us the most. From the instant of contact they are already smiling and they are very quick to get you what you need. It made us wonder what kind of training program the hotel offered to their employees. I will stay here again if I have to come back to Seattle, I will just ask for a room far from the elevators. Thanks!

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the elevator.

Dear Erin M,

We are glad you had a positive experience while staying at the Watertown Hotel. We also appreciate hearing about outstanding customer service.

We actually have two levels of parking and oftentimes have more spots available on the lower level just in case the garage seems fairly full.

We look forward to the opportunity to accommodate you again!

I loved loved this hotel. We stayed here 2 nights, then went to Ranier and came back and stayed another 2 nights. Location is fantastic in the university area. Staff was awesome. Rooms are large and spacious. It's not cheap but it's a great value for what you get. After our stay we had some billing errors on our credit card -- we were overcharged despite confirming the rate with them several times. They did fix the overcharge but it was a bit annoying for us to deal with that. Overall though, the experience was very good.
