“Awesome location; perfect for cruise port”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2014

We took a cruise to Alaska (Norwegian Pearl) and this hotel is literally across the street from the port. The location couldn't be better. Staying here meant we could enjoy more of Seattle's best attractions during our short stay before getting on the cruise ship. We were also walking distance to Pike Place Market, the shopping areas (and monorail to the Space Needle), the big Ferris wheel and the Seattle Aquarium. It helped make the most of our trip. In addition, the staff was very friendly, hotel was clean and modern, and the pool was a delight for my kids. We also enjoyed the free laundry facilities (few Marriott hotels have them) so we could have all clean clothes before the trip.

Room Tip: Definitely request a room with a waterfront view

This was our second stay at this Marriott. I am a fan of Marriott hotels as they tend to be very consistent in quality. This hotel is no exception.

Our room was spotless and had a water view (if you peeked off to the side).

The location is fabulous. Across the street from Pier 66, and just minutes walk away from great restaurants and attractions including the Seattle Aquarium and Pike Place Market.

The price of rooms is a bit high, but by booking well in advance we were able to get a package that included breakfast. I was doubly thrilled that the included breakfast didn't mean we were stuck with the buffet. The Dungeness crab Benedict was amazing!

Marriott also has a new phone app that offers advanced check in which was great. I checked in before flying in from Boston and my room keys were waiting for me upon arrival at the hotel.

I would highly recommend this hotel.

Very much enjoyed this stay!! We were going on a Norwegian cruise and this hotel was directly across the street from the cruise terminal...all we had to do was walk across!! The hotel staff was very friendly and informative and the room even had a small balcony that overlooked the waterfront. It was within walking distance to the waterfront and the Pike Market.

We love coming here as a family. Smaller rooms but very nice. We fit 3 in a king - barely. Upgrade if you can to something bigger - my opinion.

We love the pool! Half indoor and half out. Bring your drinks and pool toys and chill out on a lounger or the outdoor couch while you enjoy the ocean view !

We come here at least 3 times a year and barely leave the hotel!

Great fish n chips place across the street on the boardwalk.

Excellent stay. Only negative is that it sits right next to railroad tracks. It wasn't too bad but our room was pretty close. I suspect you probably wouldn't hear it at all if you weren't overlooking the tracks. It is really nice to be right next to the elevator for a pretty painless walk to Pike Place Market.

The consierge wasn't able to find a restaurant that could accommodate a Saturday night party of nine within a half hour or so. We decided to just go to the hotel restaurant and sit outside.

Fortunately a party of 10 didn't show up so they had the table already set up for us. The patio was about half full when we arrived shortly after 7pm.

Our drinks arrived pretty timely but the Dr. Pepper and Coke/Pepsi got switched. No big deal. We ordered a variety of appetizers.

An hour later, a couple who was there before us asked to cancel their order and just pay for appetizers since they had waited so long for their dinners.

Long story short... we finally got food nearly an hour and a half later. Apparently, there is a "side" mac and cheese as well as a "child" mac and cheese. They got those mixed up. My clam chowder was more of a bacon/ham chowder than anything else and it was luke warm. The crab cakes were unimpressive.

I think we waiting about another half hour to get the bill.

In retrospec, we would have been better off taking a cab across the city. It would have been faster. I would have to agree with Lorraine H. and not recommend this restaurant with so many others in the area.

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms looking over the railroad tracks.

I am extremely critical of hotels, (I have reviewed many!) but this was a very positive experience. Everyone at this hotel was so friendly - we couldn't walk down a hallway without running into attentive staff members. Even the cleaning staff and bellhops were friendly and engaging, always saying "hello" as we walked by and asking if there was anything that could be done to make our experience better.

My only issue was with some noises - though I am particularly sensitive to sounds when I sleep, so the noises may not bother others. For example, some rooms get noise from a nearby train track. We were transferred from one such room to another room, #533, which unfortunately backed up to a machine room and we heard a constant whirring noise. "Whaa-oooo-whaa-ooo. . . " It was mildly annoying, and we probably could have switched to yet a third room, but luckily I was able to sleep fairly well regardless.

The location is great - very walkable to most any major Seattle attraction. We walked everywhere, even to the Space Needle and to the ballpark.

And, there is a cruise dock across the street, which might be very convenient for some people. (Our cruise, however, docked some distance away. Check with your cruise line.)

If I were to visit Seattle again, I would definitely stay in this hotel. I would just ask for a room away from the elevators and machines and trains. . .

Five stars, minus one for the noises.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the trains. Also, room numbers ending in "33" such as 433, 533...

Very much enjoyed this room during a three day conference in Seattle. Decor was attractive and comfortable. Amenities were very nice. Pillows were so comfortable I am ordering a set.

The only downside was the bathroom lighting made it difficult to put on makeup. And the TV had terrible reception.

Otherwise we were very happy with the hotel, the service and our room.
