“Great location, cool hotel”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

I chose this hotel because I wanted to be close to the water in downtown Seattle. I had not really focused on its proximity to the Pike Place Market, but it is super convenient. At the side of the hotel is a public elevator that makes it really easy to walk over to the Market. If you are wanting to enjoy downtown Seattle, I cannot think of a nicer hotel to do it in (okay, well maybe the Fairmont -- but not all rooms have such good views). We walked down to the Seattle Aquarium and the Ferris Wheel, and started each morning up at the market.

I think it is totally worth it to have a room with a balcony -- beautiful views of Elliott Bay, and a great way to appreciate the city. My boys thought the pool area was really fun -- indoor/outdoor and big enough to enjoy, even with a half-dozen others in the pool. A very nice choice, even if you are not a Marriott person, and if you are -- well, why would you stay at another Marriott property in downtown Seattle?

Room Tip: Choose a room with a balcony.

This hotel is located just across the street from the cruiseline pier 66. We were getting on the Norwegian Pearl (we know the Pearl and Jewel port here) and we chose accordingly because we didn't want the hassle of a taxi to the cruise ship in the morning. We arrived earlier than check in, and while they offered us a double room that was ready immediately, we chose to wait for the king room that became available at check-in time. They were kind and held our bags for us in a secured checked location so we could strike out to explore Seattle. We walked the half block to an elevator that took us up several levels closer to Pike Place Market. Then we walked around town and came back via the waterfront. The bellman delivered our bags to our room for us, and the next day they even loaded up our bags on their cart and pushed the cart all the way across the street and down to the cruiseline for us. This was awesome service. Beyond that the hotel was nice and room fantastic. Clean, comfortable and fantastic service. Seriously, stay here!

Room Tip: A higher floor with a view of the harbor is fantastic - we watched our ship come in from our room.

Beautiful hotel and a great location. We were able to walk to many tourist spots nearby, Space Needle, Chihuly Musuem, Pike Market... Etc

Only negative thing was the parking was very expensive at a 40 per day rate. But with so many places walkable at least you don't have to drive and park again. Also close to both cruise ports, one walkable and Pier 91( I think) drive or can it there.

We stayed here the day before our cruise and two days after. We arrived before check-in time on both occasions. Both times they worked to get us in our rooms as soon as possible. The staff is pleasant and is very helpful. Both rooms were very clean and comfortable. My husband does not like to sleep under a duvet, and housekeeping furnished us with blankets. It is very quiet. While everything is close, it is also very steep and hilly so be prepared. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: You must stay with a view of the waterfront. It is lovely.

Stayed at the Marriott Waterfront in mid May and was very pleased with the hotel accommodations and location. We walked everywhere and were able to see all of the big attractions we wanted to visit. Fun longer (15 minutes) walk to The Space Needle and short (5 minutes) walk to Pike's Place. The rooms are clean, comfortable and stylish. Definitely book a room with a view of the waterfront. The only warning I have is to anyone renting a car. Be ready to pay for valet. The less expensive parking lot is far off site and the valet is definitely the way to go!

Fairly new Marriott that offers great views and great location to downtown area. Walking distance to nice restaurants and nearby sites. This is a great choice to experience downtown Seattle. The rooms are clean, new, fresh and service is great. I'm a frequent traveler to Seattle, this is one of the best options.

We arrived recently the day before our cruise left for Alaska. Our room was not ready upon arrival, which I understood and they had us wait in the concierge lounge. The lounge is small but accomodated everyone and we had some snacks in the afternoon and evening. The staff in the lounge was very accomodating.

In about an hour our room was ready. We had requested feather free and it was ready when the room was assigned. The maid service was excellent. She checked to make sure the room was what we wanted and got extra towels, etc. She even came to the room the next morning to remove the roll away so we would have more room to get ready. We had a larger cornern room with a view of the ocean. A different shaped room, but comfortable and accomodated the three of us.

It is only a short walk to Pike Place market so we ventured out to shops etc and a target downtown to pick up some forgotten items for the cruise. We also made a reservation with the front desk for a shuttle service they contract with for a ride to the pier for our cruise. The van was clean and the driver friendly. We had to wait a few minutes for the van as it shuttles passengers back and forth.

We had dinner at the Hook and Plow that night. The servers were friendly and the atmosphere good however it seemed to take awhile for the food to arrive. The food was good and the menu varied and worked for us for dinner as we were all tired from traveling.

Staff is accomdating at this hotel, the rooms are clean and I would stay here again before another cruise.

Room Tip: We had an ocean corner room which gave us additional room for three people.
