“Great Hotel, Limited Pool Hours”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 April 2012

This is a great hotel but the location isn't the best. If parking in downtown Seattle was easier this wouldn't be an issue but the walk from downtown to the hotel is uphill at an incline. The service is fantastic but the pool is only open for 6 hours each day from 4pm-10pm. Free candy in the lobby. You need to use your key card to take the elevator to the floors with rooms so it's very secure.

Dear cow_manx,

Thank you for choosing the Silver Cloud Broadway for your recent lodging needs and thank you for taking the time to submit a review. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the hotel and the service you received. We take pride in taking care of our guests!

I am sorry that the information we provided regarding the pool hours was inaccurate or miscommunicated. Our pool is actually open from 4AM - 10PM - 18 hours. I hope that error didn't negatively impact your experience too strongly and hope on your next visit you are able to use that amenity as desired.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your comments!

Warm Regards,
Chauncey DeVitis

I was visiting SU's open house with my daughter to decide on college. It is literally across the street from campus. The hotel is not luxurious, but what makes up for that is the value. You can tend to business at SU and then take advantage of the free shuttle service provided by the hotel to at least 4 points of interest in the downtown area. It runs until 10pm and all that is required is a phone call for a return trip. We had a rental but was so grateful to not have to drive in the downtown area with parking not cheap and dealing with traffic. The rooms were clean and bathroom adequate. The staff was very friendly. There is a restaurant on site with a bar . We stayed in a room facing Madison where there is noise but not as loud as staying near broadway. The breakfast is overpriced so I would recommend the ihop just behind the hotel for which is just as good but half the price. If visiting SU I would stay here again otherwise I would stay downtown where all the action is.

We stayed here in February for a weekend getaway. We had booked via Hotwire which was an amazing rate considering the tier of hotel this is. Silver Cloud Hotel has very nice staff as well as the shuttle driver who was very helpful in guiding us around the downtown area.
Jimmy's wasn't very busy but it should be, the food was great and they had a wide variety of beers on tap. Not far from downtown at all and if you choose not to use the complimentary shuttle, cab rides are no more than $7.00-$8.00 to get to major attractions downtown.
We will definitely stay again!

Very friendly staff on check in. Really great. Organised my wake up call and town car efficiently. Room was a little tired but had everything you need. Good TV, coffee maker in the room (unlike the W), free wifi, nice little bar/restaurant. Very good location.

Would definitely stay here again. Usually stay at Lake Union but I prefer this location.

I have been trying all different hotels in the Seattle area. The next hotel in my lineup was the Silver Cloud Hotel.

The location was a bit outside of the city. Technically, it is in Seattle, but definitely not walking distance to the city center.

The lobby was busy, I checked in just after 5pm and there was a seminar still going on in a large conference room. Connected to the lobby is a restaurant with full bar. There is an onsite parking garage for $20 per night.

My room was spacious, complete with a microwave and refrigerator. Out my window was a great view of Seattle University across the street.

The hotel was quiet at night. I didn't hear a peep all night. Comfortable, clean beds with several different pillow types. The bathroom was typical with upscale toiletries.

This hotel was decent, if it was located in the heart of the city, I would stay here all the time.

Booked via Hotwire, Rooms were excellent for the price. Location is slightly away from main hotels (3-4 blocks). But this is compensated by a free courtesy bus leaving on the half hour to various locations. The adjoining restaurant "Jimmys" has excellect food (went 3 times in the 4 days there, with not a bad meal in sight). Would Recommend this hotel to anyone

Fantastic hotel. Secure parking is located conveniently below the building, though they charge $20 for it. Lobby is spacious and staff was courteous. Room is very large, immaculate, and beds very comfortable. Shower is excellent- water will heat up (very hot) fast and there's great pressure. Rooms have a built in kitchenette, which was fantastic. Includes sink, microwave, fridge, and coffee maker. Water tasted very good as well. Another interesting feature of the hotel to point out is that it's a "Green" hotel and the heating appears to be geothermal (Water Furnace).

Great experience with my wife and young daughter- no complaints whatsoever.

Room Tip: Upper floor rooms offer a better view.
