“the WORST”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 September 2012

The worst room I have ever stayed in for $275 (pre-tax) per night. Filthy carpet, TINY room, NO dresser for clothing and minescule closet with no light. This is all I can say. I cannot even fillout the requisite 275 characters required by Trip Advisor so I am adding this last sentence.

BrukzE, Thank you for sharing your comments. We work very hard to keep the hotel in shape and we will do our best to identify this room and rectify the issue. As an historic hotel there are a few rooms that are smaller than our typical 450 sq. foot standard room. As a thought, by joining our complimentary Presidents Club, preference in room accomodations is one of the valued priveleges. I hope you will consider this for future visits.

The Fairmont Olympic was a great experience for our family. From the helpful valet parking attendants, concierge, check-in staff, luggage valet to restaurant staff - we were greeted with smiles and given wonderful service. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite that was large and beautiful - lots of space for everybody. The yellow hallways and bright rooms are always welcome in the often cloudy Seattle. The hotel is in walking distance of anything you need to see in Seattle - or a short cab ride. The dining room is one of the most beautiful ones I have ever seen - and the food matched its beauty. The Fairmont is a large hotel - but provides all you need to make Seattle a fun place to visit.

What can I write about this brilliant hotel that hasn't been said. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left we were treated with the utmost care and courtesy.
We stayed in an executive suite, I nearly called Emergency Services because the bed was so big I couldn't locate my other half. The room was fantastic, more than I hoped for, people on here have said 'dated' I think traditional, elegant and classy. Not modern or minalimistic but so traditional, old Hollywood glamour
The hotel is located in Downtown Seattle so is so close to all attractions, Shuckers Bar and The Terrace are a bit pricey (in English terms) but more than well worth the visit, service everywhere is second to none, We had a problem, nothing at all to do with the hotel but Cathy the concierge sorted it for us, just ask and they take the issue from you. Marcus also diid the same.
I cannot recommend this hotel enough

Room Tip: If you can go for the executive room, it was brilliant, din't eat at the hotel or use the Spa bu...

Kallee, it was a pleasure to read your comments and we thank you for sharing your thoughts. Historic hotels are labour of love and it is rewarding when a guest really enjoys the old world charm of the hotel, I loved your Hollywood glamour description. Thank you for staying with us and we will happily pass your feedback on to the staff.

Everyone is so friendly here. Hotel in a great location to walk to many shops, restaurants and Pike Market. Rooms are very nice. Happy hours in the lobby bar is a must. Be sure to try 67 restaurant and Elliott's oyster house.

We spent two night before our cruise at the Fairmont. We had a king room with a sitting area on the 8th floor. The bed was so comfortable and hands down had the best pillows ever!! We did hear street noise. That might be an issue for some but we are city people and were ok.

We took the light rail from Sea-Tac and got of at the University exit. We walked one block (uphill) and we were there. They have great happy hour apps and drinks. The popcorn shrimp, calamari and sliders were outstanding. You'd think for 5 dollars, the serving would be small but they quantity was very nice. I can't say enought abou Laura who was our server both afternoons.

I did swim in the pool and use the hot tub. I had the whole place to myself. The locker room amenities were great. They had private showers, razors, shaving cream, shampoo, shower gel, hair spray, hair gel, deoderant and hairdryers. The music that plays is so soothing. This was the most relaxing hour I had spent in awhile.

Check your bill with the desk before you check out. They had mini bar charge on ours that was not listed on the bill slipped under our door. We didn't even open the mini bar but the charge was for 39 dollars. That was easily taken care of by the front desk. The concierge was helpful about directions and stowing our bags the morning of our cruise. The cab ride to pier 66 was 10 minutes.

Not every Fairmont is as outstanding as this gem and thus the motivation to review our recent experience. We arrived early and received a complimentary upgrade at check-in, very unusual. The accommodations were excellent. The king-size bed was extremely comfortable, it was like an elegant home away-from-home. The staff was courteous, competent and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel basis our recent experience there.

this is one of those classic hotels which are not too common to find. the decor is classy, food is great, service very prompt. I stayed with my son and the hotel took great care for both of us. the location is absolutely fantastic, in the heart of Seattle downtown. The whole of downtown is very walk able and therefore this is a good location too in case you do not have personal transport, like us as we were visiting from India. this is also conveniently located and is a stop for the airport transporter buses. The monorail station is also quite walk able. therefore if you have a taste for a classic American feel, then this is the right place to be. I would surely love to come back again and again to this place.
