I loved the Smith Tower. Historical, amazing sunsets over the city and a nice place to grab some food or drinks whilst overlooking and being in the heart of Seattle.

We loved getting to see such a panaromic view of the city. Happened to be there at sunset and it was spectacular. Far better price than the Space Needle with equally as good of a view.

Bar at night was so much fun; Kristine is so cute!! She was wonderful; Hubby and I had a drink and would love to come back. You have to pay for the ride up every time you visit, but it's a great stop while in Seattle

A hidden gem! Space needle is the popular well known attraction but Smith Tower offers spectacular views of Seattle.

What a fun experience visiting Smith Tower. They made it very entertaining with their "Speak easy" references. One we made it to the top the views were fantastic.

Be sure to keep your receipt and tickets as you can revisit the same day. We went up early in the day and then came back at sunset.

Such a nostalgic feeling to the new speakeasy at the top of the Smith Tower. Great atmosphere, music and ffood. The observation deck view was an excellent addition to the evening because there were some breaks in the rainy weather.

Came in here with my parents when they were in town. My father is a retired elevator mechanic so he loved the old elevators, chewed the operators ear off about how he used to work on them. Sadly they are now button operated as of the last six months. Views from the observatory were very nice with a view of the needle down the road through other buildings. Rainier was hiding though. If you have the time I recommend a stop at this historic Seattle landmark, there is even a fun exhibit about the building and its occupants on the way up.

Hi David,

Thank you for the great review! Our hopes with the elevator modernization are to always keep an "operator" in there to provide that personalized experience. Nevertheless, we are delighted to hear that you and your folks enjoyed your experience with us.

Kindly,

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Smith Tower, the very small exhibition / museum details the history of the building and introduces you to the colourful characters behind its construction. You work your through the lower levels of the building and then board the original (and amazing) manually operated elevator. This is where we met Joe, the elevator operator, who was great, full of information and interesting stories about the building and its importance to the city of Seattle. On the top floor, there is a wondering speak easy style bar, in the Chinese Room, with an ornate ceiling that must be seen to believe. Then there is the observatory promenade, which is what most people visit to see, with stunning 360 degree views of downtown Seattle, covering the Puget Sound, the ferris wheel, Century Link and Safeco stadiums and much more. Back down in the foyer there is a nice coffee shop and gift store. Well worth a visit, loved the history, architecture and style of the whole experience. At $19 is may be seen as a little pricey, but I really enjoyed it.

I asked my network for things to do in Seattle on limited time. I kept hearing "since you have to pick one Tower, make it the Smith." Well, who am I to argue with a recommendation?

We popped in at 5 pm to find it was happy hour, so admission was only $9. Amazing! More money for drinks up top!! The man in the gift shop was adorable, dressed in 20's attire to reflect the era we were to be transported to. I told him the recommendation and he said "You can't see the Needle from the Needle!" Great point. Can't argue with that logic one bit.

After a quick spin through the museum (I'm a sucker for a museum but there were drinks and views to be taken in!!), we boarded the elevator where we met the most lovely elevator man (laugh at his pins and tip him a buck!).

The bar up top is beautiful, the views are breathtaking, the happy hour specials are on point.

Then the sun sets, everyone goes outside to watch. It is so beautiful and peaceful and pink. Pink! The sunset is amazing over the Pacific.

They do it right here. Now when asked I will say "Go to the Smith! You can see the Needle from the Needle! And the pink skys are to die for!"

We weren't sure whether or not to visit this location. The exhibition before you take the lift to the top is very interesting and well done
