“Home sweet Duchess”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2014 via mobile

Oh Duchess. You are the perfect combo of neighborhood tavern and college bar. I wouldn't go there on college game day but it's the perfect bar for a Tuesday. Bring your friendly dog too!

“Love this place!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2013

Great selection of beer. Shuffleboard! Electric darts but darts none the less. Dog friendly and nice mix of patrons from students to regulars.

“An UW neighborhood institution”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2012

Cold beer, great burgers, and an extensive menu. This tavern on 55th NE is well-know to many UW students. We stopped in after an afternoon of kayaking in Lake Union. This is not a fancy place, but on weekend nights, it gets busy. In 1973 we got the tavern to sponsor our senior class light weight 8 for Class Day, they silkscreened white pitless shirts with an image of a frosty beer mug and their logo. Dick Erickson was not too pleased with us.
