“Diner Look; Not Too Thrilled With Our Dinners”
Reviewed 17 February 2014

This was our first visit to this Queen Anne neighborhood restaurant. It has a bar side and a dining area. The décor is funky diner-style. The place is not too large. We had 4 children and 4 adults in our party and sat near an older couple who were seated in a booth. With 8 at our noisy table, we got icy looks from them throughout dinner. We saw many other tables with kids, so beware this is a family-friendly place. The children's menu is large, so no complaints there. I had the Burritilada which came with black beans and side salad. I found everything to be too spicy. My husband had the Satchmo's Red Beans and Rice. He said it was not very tasty. Service was good. Parking difficult on a busy Sunday evening.

“Love this neighborhood restaurant”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

The 5 Spot is hands down our favorite family-friendly restaurant on Queen Anne. Breakfast is excellent but dinner is even better. They have a regional themed menu that changes every few months along with the restaurant decor. The brisket is excellent if you're looking for something that will stick to your ribs, the chicken and waffles is so good you'll go home and dream about it, and the simple salmon is perfect if you're looking for lighter fare. Save room for dessert. The turtle sundae is really good! If you're over 21 sit in the bar for faster service.

“Great place to go for breakfast”
Reviewed 26 December 2013

My 'go-to' place for breakfast. I love the vegetarian hash and most of their other breakfast treats. Fresh orange juic gets two thumbs up. If you know authentic Mexican, then don't order it here as you'll be disappointed. Also, not the place to order tea. But, fab service and friendly atmosphere makes this a fave.
