“Italian + Mexican food? Best of two worlds!”

Who would thought that a restaurant that serves both italian and mexican food would be a good idea? Well, your thoughts on the matter come in second place, as the food simply speaks for itself! Bruno, the nicest italian guy I've ever met, puts passion and home meal flavour to every single dish he prepares. I particularly recommend his "Chicken cacciatore", the meat is so tender it literally falls out of the bone and melts in your mouth! Delicious. The price/size of the meals is a real steal too! The special we had was for about 8 bucks and included salad, garlic bread, pasta and the chicken cacciatore. We also tryied his lasagna the next day and it was really good! If you're in a budget, they also sell pizza slices for about 1.50 each. As a mexican myself, I was tempted to try the mexican food in Bruno's, but since I got plenty at home (I was on vacation) I decided to try it the next time. I'm sure that it also tastes great, because Mr. Bruno's wife is from Puebla, Mexico, one of the best regions for mexican cousine. Also, Bruno's is right in the middle of Downton! So its conveniently placed for all you tourists out there. So please, do yourselves a favour and stop by Bruno's, its home made cooking and familiar ambient will make you come back for more! We actually did, since we came back the very next day :D

We ate at bruno's in 2010 and found Bruno very friendly, the food great, and no need whatsoever to call the health department!

Bruno's has been in Seattle for ages.
Food: Great comfort food. Bruno is Italian and his wife Mexican thus the 2 different types of food offerings.
Value: Great portions and prices are comparable to most any place downtown. Plus they have a decent bare bones bar.
Service: The folks working there are great and Bruno is a gracious host.
Atmosphere: One friend described it as the closest thing to a NY style restaurant. Oilcloth tablecloths, candles and Mexican soap operas on the tube.
Bruno's is at the top of my list for favorites in Seattle.
Suggestion: Try the chicken soup with rice and black beans and a bit of jalapeno.

Wouldn' t recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy! Not sure how this place squeaks by the strict regulations of the health department, maybe they're are grandfathered in with post WW1 codes or something.
My girlfriend is super sick, and we shouldn't have ignored the obvious warnings of a bad restaurant, #1 no guests at dinner time, #2 the feeling of rats stalking you from weird crevaces, #3 a bottle of watered down dishsoap in the bathroom for washing your hands, classy, [--] the [--] place was nasty!
Definately calling the health dept. after I'm done posting this, sorry for the people who work there and will lose their jobs.
