The shelves were pretty bare for lunch at 2 pm. Judge a French bakery by the quality of its croissants - these are but average.

I can still smell their freshly baked olive bread and the aroma of their pastries... Ah, if I could start each morning there - I would.

Everything is fresh and delicious, and at lunchtime they serve great sadwiches and salads. The bakery is very quint - the perfect spot to relax and forget about the world. And if you're not into forgetting - they have WiFi too.

I've eaten here several times. The croissants and other pastries are fabulous. On the other hand there's room for improvement with the coffee and service. First the cashier asks twice what you want then slowly writes the coffee order on a pieces of paper then tacks it to the coffee machine. Five or 10 minutes later the coffee finally arrives. In the barrista's defense, coffee service in Seattle is generally slow. But the cup of coffee that finally arrives is bitter and not well-made. If it's a nice day buy your pastry at Boulangerie, walk across the street and buy coffee at Uptown Espresso (the staff at Uptown say the pastries are fresh buy in my experience they are wrapped in plastic which ruins the freshness), then walk down to Bell Street, cross the bridge and watch the boats go by from the Bell Street Pier. Now that's enjoying the best Seattle has to offer!

Friendly staff, reasonably priced lunch sandwiches, and excellent pastries at this French Boulangerie. Well worth a visit.

Wonderful croissants, croissants au chocolat and breads. The atmosphere is quaint and the service friendly, although slow at times. However, the quality of the breads and other food is excellent. A great place for a breakfast or soup and sandwich lunch.
