If you're on the University of Washington campus or anywhere nearby, do drop into the Aqua Verde Cafe and Paddle Club overlooking Portage Bay and some of Seattle's famous house boats. Time arrival for lunch not later than 11:30am or after 1pm, to avoid the hordes of university students, staff and faculty members who head for this spot at noon. Great porch overlooking the water and constant boat traffic between Lake Washington and Puget Sound. Just a few steps away, choose one of a fleet of kayaks for rent, if you feel like inspecting the house boats closer up. Nephew Ryan from Toronto awarded the food, "Best Mexican ever." I'll add - don't miss the key lime pie.

This is a restaurant/bar on the water that also does kayak hire.
I hung out in the bar (on the deck) whilst friends were or on the water. The service was slow but polite, the beer tasty but only 2 on draught - and they put lime in my dark beer. Why?
I had chips & salsa - the chips were OK but the three salsas were all underwhelming, very watery & mild.
Overall ok - lovely view but unless you're they're for the kayaks, not worth the trip just for food.

It's a 1.5 hour round-trip kayak to the Arboretum. Get *clear* instructions before you go. The entrance isn't at all obvious.

Had the lemon cod burrito and it was excellent, and quick service. Queue out the door because it was lunch time.
Sat outside looking over the water - great atmosphere.

..... But it was disappointing. Chips just meh, homemade salsas rather sweet, gorditas over-cooked and bland. Drinks, view, and service ok. I will probably give it another try & order something else, but it was not that great.
