“Six Stars!”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

My husband and I spent the long 4th of July weekend in Seattle and are so pleased with ourselves for having chosen to stay at the Pan Pacific Seattle. It's a chic, elegant hotel in the best possible location with the most helpful, friendly and attentive staff one could hope for. It's within walking distance from most of the major attractions, like Pikes Place Market, the Space Needle, and Lake Union, and it's so convenient to have a Whole Foods Market, Starbucks, and two good restaurants within steps of the hotel. They also provide free rides if you don't want to walk. The rooms are well appointed, spacious, and quiet, and the 3rd floor is dog friendly! After returning home, I discovered that I had left some items in the room and called the hotel to inquire about them. The very next day, I got a call from them saying they had my items and would be Fed Ex-ing them to me right away. How good is that!

The Pan Pacific feels fresh and modern, is conveniently sited and has pleasant helpful staff. It also has the added bonus of a magnificently stocked Whole Foods store on the street level below. The store has a huge range of quality hot food, salads, breakfast food etc that you can eat in or take out. The hotel rooms are spacious and very clean and the bathrooms large with a full size bath as well as separate shower. The beds have small angled reading lights attached to the bedhead which are great for reading -- more hotels should have them! On the downside, the fridge was filled with drinks and snacks on a computer system -- so much as move an item and the computer will automatically charge you for it. There was only a tiny space for personal items. I found this particularly irksome. Another gripe is the provision of an elaborate coffee making system with pods. Completely beyond me. I would like a simple electric kettle that just boils water for a tea bag. The Pan Pacific is not alone, however, -- generally American hotels seem
committed to coffee making machines, each one different to the last. Service at the Pan Pacific is largely pleasant and friendly and the complimentary car service within the city area an excellent, helpful provision. I have stayed here three times now and would do so again.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Pan Pacific Seattle. We are so pleased to hear that you've been a guest multiple times and that each time you've found the service to be accommodating and the rooms comfortable. It's also nice to know that you've found the sedan shuttle service to be a convenient, useful amenity. Please note that we are happy to clear the mini-bar for you if you would prefer to use the entire space for personal items and would also be able to provide electic kettle or pot of hot water for tea upon request. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Best,

Ryan Crosby

The front desk staff was very pleasant and welcoming. I had called the day before, requesting early check in (12 pm) and a quiet, high floor room (I am a very light sleeper). Both request were fulfilled! She asked what our plans were while in town and gave us a map of Seattle, circling the places we planned on visiting. That map came in handy- even with our smartphones! She walked us to the elevator and "called" it for us- nice touch!

We were on the 8th floor. The elevator was always very quick. I was concerned when I realized our room was one of the closest to the elevator, but I never once heard footsteps or any inside noise. (Other than room doors, which I did hear the first day, then I guess I blocked them out!). I was able to hear some street noise and the hotel bathroom does not have a bathroom fan, so I found an app for white noise, that was a huge help for me!

We usually stay in Marriotts or Holiday Inns so maybe having the ice being pre-bagged and placed in an fancy cooler/ice box near the elevator is normal, but we thought it was pretty cool. And it was always full!

The room was very clean. The Keruig was a fun bonus. The bathtub was AMAZING! (The hotel does NOT offer bubble bath with the toiletries, so either bring some with you or run down the Whole Foods). At first, I noticed the I ugly street and rooftops. But once I looked beyond that, I realized how pretty the view of Lake Union was. And watching people on the street IS fun! The room had many outlets for charging phones and such. The bed was SUPER comfy!

Room service is convenient, I suppose. However, be prepared to pay $5 for a PIECE OF TOAST! No exaggeration. We just couldn't bring ourselves to pay that much. Instead, we ran down to Whole Foods for a quick bite. They have a HUGE hot bar (I think there were 4 looong rows), a giant salad bar, tons of premade fruit cups, fresh juice, a coffee bar, pastries, lots of soups (seafood soups near the seafood counter, and more by the meat counter)... too many choices to even mention. It's not inexpensive, but cheaper than room service. You can take the stairs there, or the escalator going back up, or the elevator right by the hotels entrance goes directly into the store. And of course, Starbucks, which is accessible from the hotel lobby! Or, the many restaurants within blocks. Sidenote: everyone in Whole Foods was very fiendly, but the staff at that Starbucks were terribly rude!

It was an easy walk to the lake, the Seattle Center ( Space Needle), Westlake Mall and other restaurants and shopping. However, the walk to Pike Place Market, Pioneer Square, downtown and the Waterfront was a bit long. But that's what the complementary car service is for! It's first come, first serve, but we never had to wait longer than 10 minutes. The drivers are all very friendly and helpful.

We would stay here again!

If I was staying on pleasure rather than business it would have been 5 stars, however for business there is a definite draw back in the quality and strength of the wifi both in the lounge areas and in the rooms. Beyond that everything was fantastic, rooms are spacious and very well equipped (and spotless). The service was consistently good - the bar menu and staff in particular are excellent and really deliver high quality customer service. Another big selling point is the location as you are a few minutes stroll to downtown shopping etc while being far enough removed that the location is very relaxing. It doesn't hurt either that there is a fantastic Whole Food right down stairs. I didn't use the gym but the spa the hotel partners with across the road was great, but booking is a neccessity. All in all it's definitely my new choice for Seattle and I will be back!

Room Tip: The corner rooms (the X01 rooms) are brilliantly spacious

Service was fantastic! Nice room with unique design. Seems like we were in the middle of everything. The hotel is located over a Whole Foods...a huge Whole Foods with many, many cooked food choices. Hotel valet staff were great at giving us a ride to where ever we needed though we walked to most places (Pikes Place market, the Space Needle) within 15 minutes. Also liked the cozy bar that was on the property. It had outdoor seating which was great in the evening. We ended up eating dinner there ordering from a menu from the restaurant next door.
