The food is fresh, prepared well and taste great. Love that you can see the workers making dumplings in the kitchen behind glass. Probably a little expensive for what it is and a bit too crowded, but a place you should definitely try.

Nice, clean, safe place for dim sum for those who dare not venture to the International District. Service is efficient; you order from a form you complete yourself, and family-style dishes come to your table as they are ready, which may be one at a time.

Food was good overall, and certainly made fresh. We tried a few variations of the dishes recommended in TripAdvisor and were not disappointed.

Prices are on the high side if you order the recommended appetizer and three or four dishes per couple, particularly if expecting American portions. We left full though, with a few bits of leftovers, and a $73 bill. (For what we ordered, it would have come in well under $30 in the International District.)

We thought we'd go early for a Saturday lunch after reading of the long wait times. At 11 a.m., the place was packed, though we didn't have to wait for a table. By the time we left an hour later, the lobby was full and waiting customers packed the courtyard; it was difficult to navigate our way to the escalators!

Din Tai Fung is a restaurant with a big hype. Overall the place is really good and the dumplings and food is definitely worth it.

So with all the press surrounding din Tai Fung, perhaps my expectations where higher and loftier than it should have been.

But , the food was so bland,we ordered a few of everything, I was so disappointed, l left with the firm conviction that "the emperor has no clothes"!

Our adult son recommended we meet here for dinner. We had to take a ferry and drive to the U village location. It was worth it! We experienced a short wait for our table on a Tuesday night. It wad worth it! Food was fresh, tasty, plentiful and reasonably priced. Dumplings are light and flavorful. Garlic green beans were fresh, tender-crisp and yummy. Staff was friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this restaurant.
