This hotel does a good job of keeping the old look and feel of it's early 20th century roots while also giving you the modern amenities that are required. I appreciate the care the staff gives to you whether it's at the front door or at the front desk. I've never really experienced this before! The room was very clean and in great shape. Good TV with some HD channels and HBO. Plenty of room to stretch out (I got the basic king bed room) and felt more like a small apartment then a hotel. PROS: Views, amenities, style/charm, staff, rooms (spacious!) There are some cons however. The parking is Valet only and $42.00 per night before tip (OUCH). This makes an already expensive hotel EXTREMELY expensive. It almost moves it into a category it can't really compete in. The WiFI is available to Hilton members but they charge $9.95/night if you are not a Hilton traveler member. For it being such an expensive hotel this is strange. I haven't stayed at a hotel in the last 5 years that didn't have free complimentary wifi. Even some of the lowest quality hotels have this for free. CONS: Price, WiFi charge, Parking (Valet only). In summary I would recommend this hotel for those on business. Couples might enjoy this as well. It doesn't seem to cater too much to families as it feels very much like a high class inner city establishment. Price is pretty steep but if you need to be in the city, this is probably the best in it's area.

You have got to see this place in person to appreciate what a jewel it is. It is an iconic building and they have taken great care to make sure the furnishing and ambiance reflect it's history. Great Experience all around!!!

I stayed at the hotel for business and I will stay there again. The staff was excellent from the moment I checked in through the moment I needed a ride arranged to the airport. Very clean and updated, but in a way that captured the history of the area. The whirlpool bathtub was a nice touch, especially after walking the hills in downtown Seattle. Very nice location as well. I never used a coffee press before, but mine had one and the coffee was outstanding. If I could change one thing, it would be to add a swimming pool, but that's asking for a lot. Great stay!

This hotel is off the beaten track (somewhat) but is a wonderful find downtown very near the original skid row. A gentlemen's club back in the early 1900's, it's been restored and the rooms are nothing short of fabulous. I arrived at 1230 am (delayed flight) and they were more than welcoming (thanks ERIK!). The bar hosted a drink-a-thon of my friends and although only 1 waitstaff on duty, handled most of our orders efficiently (seriously, consider adding one more for the very popular and packed bar). The car was always available when ordered (valet) and the both the desk staff and bell staff were so well trained and performed perfectly. I'd gush more, but there really is nothing around them (yet) that's open past 5 pm. It's a hike to pike's market and a walk to pioneer square. It was a wonderful step back in time and every detail has been taken care of - even the bathroom door was perfect.

Room Tip: if you need more light - ask for a 00 or 01 room (but they're smaller).

I have to say that I initially chose this hotel for our group based upon comments that were provided on this site... Every point was aces on... This place literally breathes class - from the moment you walk in the door (which btw will be held for you) - until the moment you go home. If you are already tired of reading - remember this - if you don't choose to stay here, you're making a huge mistake.

If you're still reading, a couple people/places/things I need to give kudos to... Continuing from the 5-diamond door service...

Check-in: perfect start to finish... Brandon Shelton is the epitome of what Front Desk service should be... The Doubletree is lucky to have this guy. There were several persons in our group - all of whom received the same excellent service / attitude / and follow-up. Who actually remembers the guests names during the stay? This Front Desk does... They'll make you feel like royalty.

This is a medium sized boutique hotel... Whether you're paying a discount or regularly published fare - or even a higher travel site fare, it's totally worth it... Especially if you are a hilton honors upper tier member. Complimentary with your stay are breakfast coupons... Normally this would entitle you to some mass quantity food and minimal flavor and even less selection.... But not here... This $12 coupon can be used for ANYTHING on the menu... So for $4 I had one of the best seafood omelets I have ever had in my life... I'd come back to the hotel for the food alone... Ask for Carlos to be your waiter... As I rushed out on the day of check out, he made sure to get me a bag of food and to go drink just so I wouldn't leave on an empty stomach.

The rooms... We were on the 2nd floor - lobby level... Unreal the size / style / and furnishings... From the ornate design to the cozy blankets to the foam pillows (waiting for me at the time of check-in) to the trunk style night stands... Simply amazing. You would think that the noise from the lobby and lounge areas would be noticeable - but I swear it's like there's a white noise barrier - even the street level sounds are minimal. I can't say enough about the rooms... Perfect.

I was here on business.... But as I have said multiple times since my stay - in a heartbeat, I would love to use the Arctic Club as our hotel for an upcoming family trip.

Literally every facet of this hotel was outstanding... Regardless of the purpose of your trip, you can't go wrong here.

Hotel has the feeling of stepping back to the Art-Deco era of 1925. Rooms are well appointed and clean, bed is very comfortable, pillows very soft and linens are supple and clean. the staff is very helpful and cordial. the only draw back is the limited options for parking; if your lucky you can get street parking for a reasonable price. otherwise, you are left paying $42.00 for valet.

Nice hotels are one thing, but this hotel offers a great combination of Posh Luxury and Antique Class. I love the absence of an over-produced simulated "ambience" that some newer hotels have to tout. This building has always been beautiful, but DT / Hilton has done a wonderful job at creating an old feel to the lobby and rooms, but unlike some restored hotels this one is SPOTLESS top to bottom and beautifully furnished. Staff was awesome and very professional. If there is ANYTHING to comment negatively about, it would be that the elevators are small (not reconditioned as much as the rest of the facility) and that there is an office building directly across the street that means people are looking at you with either jealous or annoyed eyes as you enjoy the windows / balcony. Those two items aren't nearly substantial enough to effect my opinion of the hotel. I Can't say enough about this hotel, but I'll stop there.....for now. Wouldn't dream of even trying another Seattle Hotel.
