The Arctic Club Seattle - a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel
Ranked #25 of 102 Hotels in Seattle
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 23 April 2014

The Arctic Club is a boutique hotel conveniently located in downtown Seattle. It is a short walk from the Seattle Aquarium, restaurants and other tourist destinations. There is a bar, The Polar, and it is like stepping back into a more opulent time in history. It has a large carved bar, lots of dark wood, and plenty of seating in small groups, perfect for settling in for some great drinks and interesting conversations with friends, or the intimacy couples will enjoy.

The restaurant has a delicious and varied selection of offerings for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is quite good, and the staff is excellent. The servers are friendly and helpful, and the service is smooth.

The rooms are very well appointed, luxurious, and the bathrooms large. The hotel is quiet, and the front desk staff extremely helpful.

If you are looking to treat yourself, or your significant, this would be an excellent place to stay for a getaway weekend!

I was blown away by what I saw for my room, it looked like a penthouse suite! The restaurant staff were very courteous, always ready to help. The food was fantastic, and tasted delicious. I couldn't have asked for better during my stay.

The staff was very good, but the room was noisy. We faced the street and you could hear all the traffic. There was a false alarm early in the morning but the staff handled it well. I recommend for the staff experience but the hotel itself I don't recommend. For the money I paid I expected more for the hotel room.

Staying here just one night, but the service has been excellent, and the rooms (I got to see two, first one was too close to the street so they moved me) are beutiful...both were different and were beautifully decorated! Large rooms, large bathrooms, beautiful fixtures...everything is lovely and I would stay again for certain!

We spent two nights and loved the place immediately. You feel you have stepped back into the luxuries of the past. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was probably the most beautiful we've had. Lovely decor, roomy, first-rate linens and toiletries, fresh coffee w/press. The location is great, too, with both light rail and bus stops just across the street. The Amtrak station is close and the light rail takes you to the airport for only $2.50. The room was very soundproof and, although on a busy street, the only noise was an occasional siren. As a Hilton Hhonors member, we got credit toward a breakfast at their restaurant, Juno. It was delicious and well worth the moderate price. (Try the stuffed French toast!)

A couple of irritations: The fire alarm went off early one morning due to some construction at a neighboring site. The sink in our room did not drain and, even though we reported it the first morning, it was not repaired for us. The bathtub handle broke off, too. I did not get the impression this was typical, though.

We hope to go back to Seattle again and would definitely use this beautiful hotel.

I stayed in the Hilton Honors level at this hotel (top two floors are reserved for Hilton Honors members) and found the room to be well appointed. The bed was very comfortable fitted with higher end linens and pillows. The bathroom had good storage, nod a great shower. This hotel is is a renovated Art Deco building and has been renovated in a way that honors it's rich history. Staff were more than welcoming and accommodated our every need. I found the location very centrally located, within a 10 minute walk to most sites, attractions , and transportation hubs. The subway is just across the street, which made a car unnecessary as the airport is a quick ride away. As an HHonors club member you can choose between 1000 extra points, or breakfast for everyone in the room. I chose breakfast, which is good for the downstairs restaurant Juno's continental breakfast, or $12.00 towards anything else on the menu, most everything was under $16.00. I used the voucher to order the vegitable omelette, which was huge and delicious. Another in my room chose the continental, which was huge! Comes with oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, and toast! A great value for the price of $12.00, spectacular for free! We also enjoyed a couple of drinks at the lobby bar, which was a trip back into the 1920's with drinks and alcohol served that was popular then. There is a full bar, but the listed drink specials are very era focused. It was fun to try one. I would recommend this hotel, and look forward to staying here again!

Great place and worth a return visit and stay next time I am in Seattle. The only slight (and I mean slight) drawback, is the proximity of this Hotel to Pioneer Square. Not a desirable are to walk in the evenings.
