We were pleasantly surprised to find this gem of a hotel right in the heart of Seattle's historic district, near the waterfront, Pioneer Square, and the underground Seattle tour. It is the first hotel ever built in Seattle, and the original woodwork, molding, and staircase were beautiful ! The rooms were impeccably clean, everything freshly painted, with soothing colors. Fluffy down comforters and pillows. The staff were very interesting and helpful ! We will definitely return in the future.

Room Tip: Rooms on the street would be noisy. Very quiet in the inside rooms. Don't book a room while th...

Not too much to complain about being less than a half a block away from the heart of Pioneer Square in downtown Seattle.

Pricing: Weekend before Christmas AND the weekend of a Seahawk game and we booked a Saturday/Sunday trip. Considering those two factors we felt it worth the money in order to only have to walk a couple city blocks to the game and have all the amenities at our finger tips. I checked for other weekends during non holiday and game days and was very pleased with the costs. Because we enjoyed our stay so much we will DEFINITELY return the next time we need to stay in that part of town.

Parking: Not on site. You are permitted to park in front of the hotel long enough to load/unload, and the parking structure is a short walking distance away for $20.00 per day.

Overall look of hotel: Obviously located in a very old and historic part of town. Lots of brick and old wood. Stairs and elevator access. Lobby is very small with a few chairs and a cozy fireplace. Staff takes meticulous care of the property. They actually MOVE furniture to vacuum and are always wiping down the brass, woodwork, elevator, etc.

Staff: Everyone we encountered went out of their way to be pleasant without being annoying. Greeted us warmly each time we walked down the stairs. Check in and check-out services were easy and friendly. I overheard one staff member spending a lot of time pleasantly educating one guest on local places to eat and walking distances, and another day a staff member offering up extra coupons to a department store for a guests last minute Christmas shopping.

Rooms and Amenities: Our room was clean, smelled fresh and was very cozy. I say cozy because it was t-i-n-y. Enough room for an armour, nightstands and bed, with a small cut out for a desk, dresser and wall mounted tv. The bathroom was spacious enough for two people to be in there together comfortably. The one complaint was that the bed did not feel like a true queen (king size bed for the weekend wasn't necessary for us this time around) and the pillows were a little too soft for my liking, but we slept just fine. Very quiet considering our room was street side. No pool or exercise room on site, but you can do enough walking downtown to get your exercise. Continental breakfast area is a very spacious room with great warm and cold breakfast options. I noticed staff even offered a tray to a guest so he could take breakfast up for his wife.

We loved the fact that we were so close via walking distance to the train station, either of the ball stadiums, Pike's Place....the options are endless. And LOTS of fun places to eat and shop. Looking forward to our next trip to Seattle. A definite high recommendation.

Room Tip: North side of the building is street side.

We used our AAA rate and loved the hotel. Great location, short walk to waterfront restaurants and maybe 10 mins to Pike Place Market. We ate so much we enjoyed and needed the walk. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Hotel was quiet for the most part. Breakfast was a bit sparse compared to other BW I've stayed at but there were still some good choices. Loved the Keurig in the room!

Good location, nice hotel Although it is not the latest fasion outlook, with its clean and comfortable room, it has great C/P value. Extreme nice people with great help, despite of our early check in and provide useful information to the city. Definitely will return in the future

Although an older hotel the accomodation was very modern. The creaks of the floors added nicely to this hotels appeal. The closeness of the hotel to the ferry terminal makes this a nice easy walk to place.

This is a hotel with and old touch but in a good way. Very comfortable room with good bed, free internet and a coffemashin in the room.
A bit rough neigbourhood but it works. Close to train of all kinds.
Then you also have a waffle machine on the breakfast and very nice orangejuice to.
The staff in the frontdesk is amazing to.
Give this place a go!

I've stayed here 6 or so times. It's a lovely place, with an antique look: staircase, carpeting, sofas, fireplace. It has no exercise room (but they will send you up the street), and parking is not very easy. Everything else I have to say is positive: Internet is free. Breakfast is included (and is generic Best Western fare: not exciting, but adequate, and you can grab coffee or fruit for the road). Rooms are recently redone with nice bathrooms, desk. It's a great location if you are getting on the ferry (2 blocks), and a pleasant 1+ mile walk to Pike's Market and downtown. I will keep staying there.

Oh, and most recently: I booked a night, but ended up arriving quite early: 7am that day! They had a room open, and were able to let me in quite early. This was excellent service, and a true kindness.

Book early if possible. Pricing varies quite a bit, from under $100 to over $200/night. Seattle is an expensive city for hotels, and good planning pays off.
