“Be Prepared”
Reviewed 24 August 2014

I travelled with my two boys in August and stayed for 2 nights. This is an old hotel but lacks the charm of a hotel of it's era. Do not expect the age to be part of the experience. The age of the building does not allow for many updates. As well, the many updates have not been done in at least a decade. The a/c systems are in the window. So at night you have to either have the heavy drapes open or go without the temp control. This is not terrible however. The breakfast is on par with other Best Western breakfasts buffets. The location is great for walking to most places. We walked all around Pioneer Square. An easy walk to West Gate (Ride the Ducks), the piers, Seattle Art Museum, Pike Place Market and we even made it to the Sculpture Park. Parking is off site but very close and secure.

Older hotel but very tastefully decorated. Room was very spacious. No refrigerator. Very close to the underground tour place. Was alittle noisy as construction was in progress. This was our second stay there.

Nicely redone historic hotel at Pioneer Square; convenient to the waterfront and Pioneer Square area. Street below a little noisy. Room spacious and nicely furnished; comfortable bed; effective heating/cooling system.

My son and I flew to Seattle for a Mariners game. We found this to be an excellent hotel within walking distance of the stadium, in a great location. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We were very pleased overall

Searched for a hotel for the 2 nights prior to our cruise. Not knowing the city, I was looking into a hotel with complimentary breakfast and yet near all the most popular sites to see. The entire experience reminded me of the hotel we stayed in Rome, having a delightful choice of breakfast items including hot waffles and the old world charm of a boutique hotel! I read reviews who mentioned it having smaller rooms, but they were so lovely and the bathrooms had been remodeled so it was a pleasure. The staff was so personable! In the evening after a long day of site seeing, we enjoyed a cocktail at the saloon next door at the outside tables - fun to people watch and relax. If you know in advance that you will be in the area, look for their "2 Night Deals" which were a very good rate - especially in the summer. We booked months ago and when my in-laws decided to join us, the hotel was sold out. Love the charm, the old fashioned ambience and the breakfast!

Loved both the location and building character. It was in walking distance to my meeting and the waterfront tourist venues. Very high ceilings and decorative details throughout. Typical free breakfast and internet WiFi was good

We stayed here one night pre-cruise. We chose this hotel because we were headed to a Mariners game and this hotel was within walking distance. It was a very easy walk to Safeco field and to pike place market the next morning. At was also a very easy walk from the light rail station to the hotel (a few blocks). In the morning the bell hop was more than willing to hold our bags while we toured the city and upon our return, got us a town car for transportation to the cruise ship terminal (he advised us that it was nicer than a cab and would be about the same price- he was definitely right!).

The hotel itself was just okay- the inside was nicer than the outside. The bathroom was very small and our room had a view of a wall but it was very quiet (we were at the end of the hall). I would definitely stay here again if my stay was going to be short... the room would be too small for me for an extended stay. As for the neighborhood, yes, there are a lot of homeless around but my overall impression of Seattle was that there were a lot of homeless wherever we went so this neighborhood was really no different.
