Get off the plane, get your baggage, and then make the hike to the SeaTac station. We managed to get one-way tickets for two going to Seattle for only $6.00. This is a fast and cheap way to get to downtown. Everything was clean, there were a lot of open seats, and with a security patrol on near our Pioneer Square destination (did not check our tickets). Pioneer Square station was easy to exit up into the 3rd and St. James area. Lots of unusual characters here!

Inexpensive way to go from downtown to the airport. $3 and a half hour ride. If you have the time, it's worth skipping a $40 taxi (plus tip).

Compared to Atlanta's MARTA system, Seattle's Light Rail Service is AMAZING! Clean, cool, on time, with on duty officers at every port of entry that I used.

This was a fantastic choice for my family. It was easy and safe. My youngest started feeling sick at the game, her and I were able to leave while the rest of the family enjoyed the end of the game. Total life saver.

We had to return our hire car to SeaTac and decided to get the Light Rail Service back to Seattle as the Interstate had been very congested when we arrived.
The first thing we discovered is that you really need to know what station you want to go to before you travel. The map at the ticket machine only shows the stations and does not show the streets etc. I had to phone the hotel to find out what station I needed to get off at.

The view from the train was quite good, better than sitting in a traffic jam looking at other cars, but it was pretty slow. And there was no5 much space for luggage so we were really glad we had emptied the car at our hotel before returning the hire car. It could be pretty awkward if you had more than one bag per person.
