I stayed solo on Saturday and Sunday the 22nd and 23rd of June. The hotel was fully booked on the Saturday because of local events but I had reserved on line months earlier.
It was a standard Etap (now called Ibis budget) hotel room with a double bed and an overlying single bunk. There was a large corner wash basin unit, separate from the toilet and shower room.It was clean and comfortable and quiet.
The outstanding feature of this hotel is the Japanese garden developed by the proprietor.
The desk is only manned in the morning and evening. If you arrive outside these times there is a machine at the door to check in , using your reservation number and you pre-pay by credit card. You are then given your access codes.Straightforward really.
It is a VERY short walk to the small Cabourg/Dives-sur-Mer train station ( infrequent trains to/from Deauville/Trouville) where you can also catch the bus (bus Verts) to Caen or Honfleur.
It is further to walk to the centre of Cabourg and its beach but it is an easy flat walk and pleasant if the weather is nice.I found Cabourg to be a nice place and I enjoyed my weekend there.
