“Great little Irish pub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2014

Who would have known you could find some good Irish food in Alaska? I thought both the food and service was good. Corned beef sandwich was awesome!

“Not a good stop for any traveler to Anchorage”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 January 2014

The location while very convenient to hotels in downtown should not be on your list of choices to dine or dink when in downtown. Service is at best marginal and food while it has great presentation lacks the quantity or taste to warrant your travel dollars. We had their Sheppard's Pie, which was served in a large pie pan. At first glance it appears to be a hardy meal, but with the first spoonful you realize you are essentially eating soup as the consistency is not what typical sheppard's pie should be. We also ordered the Chicken Pot Pie which is served in a large soup style bowl. The pastry on the top is very fluffy but it hides the fact that the bowl it covers is less than half full of actually contents. The service was poor when we arrived prior to the dinner hour when there was less than a dozen people there. The service went down hill dramatically when the dinner "rush" arrived. Clearly understaffed, undertrained and customer service is not something that is frequently discussed.

“A Nice Spot Right Downtown”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 November 2013

McGinley's is a great little spot downtown to pop in to get a bite of food or a drink. If you want a little Irish character right downtown, this is a good place to check out!

“Good Irish food”

Looks like a typical irish pub and it is. The food is good and they pour a good pint. Reasonable prices too.

“"Beef Stew" was Horrible”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 September 2013

We ordered the beef stew. The ingredients were grounded and appeared, smelled, and tasted like dog food. The strawberry salad had tired leaves and a syrupy, prepackaged dressing.

We would not recommend this establishment.
