“charming hotel”

Great hotel in downtown Anchorage. Supposedly haunted but we had nothing out of the ordinary on our stay. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. There are plenty of things to do within walking distance and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the road was being torn up near the hotel and they worked on it till 4am! But that was out of the hotel's control. All the taxis had to back up the one way street to drop off and pick up! The breakfast was ok, nothing too special.

This hotel is charming with comfortable rooms. The staff are professional and provide not only great customer service but, also informed service. The hotel is located walking distance to shops, restaurants, and train station. We plan to return!

Booked the Historic Anchorage Hotel for a 2 night stay, wanted to be close to everything downtown but not just another chain hotel. This one has character, charm, and great service. We booked a junior suite, it was a large 2-room suite with city views. We slept good, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom spotless. After we checked in, I read about the hotel having ghosts. That made me nervous, I'm a big believer in ghosts! But, I saw, heard and felt nothing of the sort during our stay, thankfully. The hotel offers free wi-fi, which was important to us. It Also provided a continental breakfast that was just average. One negative would be no airport transfers, the taxi fare was about $20 each way with tip. But the location was great, and it was a positive Anchorage stay for us.

Room Tip: City view rooms are a bit noisy.

The hotel is beautiful with its combination of historic charm and modern upgrades. It has a lot of character that you don't find in newer hotels. The staff was very friendly and helpful which more than made up for minor inconveniences like creaking floors and noise from the hallways which would be expected in an older building. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Rooms are on small side but
clean and very adequate for our purpose. Staff very friendly and go out of there way to be helpful. Front desk arranged for
breakfast to be available early so we could catch our early train. Breakfast very nice including Belgian waffles. Had coffee cups available to take coffee with you. The train station was a quick walk down the street which saved a cab fare. Are staying 2 additional nights at different times on our trip.

Right in the heart of the city and within walking distance to shops, sunday market, and restaurants.
Lovely place to stay. The breakfast was good, selection was plentiful. Parking was $10 per day in the off street parking across from the hotel. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable.
Happy cleaning staff. Near all the shopping for travellers, and bars next block over.
Will stay at this hotel again for all the above reasons.

Room Tip: If you want a view take the street room. It can be noisy especially on weekends. Remember that there...

We were very impressed with the staff. We got there to early so they said they'd hold our bags and call us when the room was ready. They called and when we got back our bags were in our room waiting for us. They recommended places to eat and we went to a local cafe called Sacks Cafe and the food was delicious. The continental breakfast was good. We were really impressed with how friendly the staff was. I'd recommend this place to stay
