From the 24 hour shuttle, to the excellent check in, to the great breakfast; all I dealt with were smiling faces and friendly staffers. That makes such a difference as so many hotels offer such similar stuff these days...really enjoyed feeling like everyone there was happy to be there - made the fact that I was away from home a bit more enjoyable.

I am use to staying in 4 or 5 star hotels and was skeptical about booking the Hampton Inn, but decided to give it a try based on the reviews. The rooms are so-so, nothing great, but not shabby either. They are just average. BUT what makes this place so GREAT is the staff. The staff at this hotel are amazing. They are willing to assist with suggestions, directions, places to go, things to do etc. The shuttle bus drives were ALWAYS on time and a source of great information. The customer service at this hotel is what customer service is all about. I have traveled the world and this place is by far the most superior with regards to their service. So downfalls: it is a bit away from downtown Anchorage BUT they have a FREE shuttle that runs on demand and will take you there at the drop of a hat. Also, I suggest renting a car as opposed to taking a tour. You MUST drive Seward Hwy1 to experience how truly amazing Alaska really is. Stop at the Bryon Glacier, Wildlife Conservation Center, Aleyska Tram and Marine and Sea Life Center for a one of kind experience. Perks: Superb staff, great breakfast and a few resturants within walking distance. This isn't a hotel to stay at for the hoping nightlife or if you are into walking around town. This is a great base to stay at to go to and from to where you need to be. Comfy beds, toiletries, great breakfast and amazing staff makes this a must stay while in Alaska. Also, a 15 minute drive to Flattop Mountain which is a must hike mountain!

Extremely pleased! Very clean. I would certainly stay there again. A bit of a distance from Anchorage Airport and with the shuttle it was not a problem. Thank you Alaska Airlines for this opportunity. I was not aware of Hampton prior to trip.

Very nice Hotel. The staff were friendly.
Good breakfast.
The location is convenient walking distance to nearby restaurants.
The price is way too high, as are all hotels in Anchorage. They do have a short tourist season so my theory is, they have to make all they can in the short time period.

Room Tip: I would request a room on the side opposite of the columns. The columns are in front of the windows...

Very satisfied, staff and location convenient, room cleaned daily. Lobby clean, decent complimentary breakfast, parking lot well lighted at night, airport shuttle option. Although I would like to see environmental choice of wash no wash towels.

As for the environmental choice cards every guest room has a card hanging on the bathroom towel rack asking guest to please conserve and re use. As a members of the Hilton Hotel Family we care about the environment and the impact our hotel can make.

This is a typical and older Hampton Inn property that is very highly priced but has a few upgrades including the 4 pillows to a bed and the duvet. The business center was closed until new computers arrived from the company; should have gone to best buy and opened it in hours instead of weeks. How do people print their boarding passes? There was a group at the hotel and they paid a lot less for their rooms than we did.The very nice new manager let me use her lap top to search for a specific restaurant and directions.
A couple of restaurants in walking distance.
They provided on time transportation to the Alaska Rail Road station.
The Hampton Inn breakfast was typical, nothing extra but well done.

Room Tip: First floor was noisy near the pool and the common area where the travel group was playing cards..

Thank you for your review, As the New General Manager I am so sorry that our business center was closed at the time, Due to us being a Hilton Brand Hotel we are unable to buy computers from local computer stores as the computers at the hotel are built to protect all guest information and reset to factory setting after each use. I am happy to report that our computers did come in and are currently setup in our business center for guest use. I am also glad that one of our task force managers was on property at the time with her laptop. I look forward to seeing you as a guest soon.

I like that the Hampton Inn takes care of what's important...cleanliness, great customer service, speedy service, and everything in good repair. The rooms have a refrigerator and microwave and are comfortable. And the location is excellent. I've stayed in other hotels with fancy amenities, but then their customer service is terrible. At the Hampton, even the cleaning staff was cheerful! I felt like the Hampton must take care of their employees, because they seem to be happy to work there. I'll definitely return and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
